I've put in a lot of hours and never been successful once. Does it actually work if you play long enough?

Believe it or not, I did when I was at Liverpool. My second season and a good season winning the league cup and finishing 2nd, they gave me a measly 6 million to spend. I was successful with an Ultimatum and got 25 million (Even though I never spent much).

You laid down an ultimatum in your second season?!? when you hadn't even won the EPL or the CL, or even the FA Cup?!? And they gave in to your demands?!?

Incidentally, i've laid down two ultimatums in all my years of playing. both got me the sack. I haven't tried it in FM08, though Stemlfc65 ridiculous demands make me think the ultimatum feature might no longer be a fast-track sacking featurel.

i was successful with an ultimatum granted i was gateshead and turned them into the richest most successful club in the world by 2030

Once on FM06...I think. I don't do it now unless I save beforehand. Never works for me.

Only once and that was in FM07 if I recall correctly.

I try to avoid it as much as possible.

I rarely use it tbh. In CM01/02, I just ignored it as it was just a 'get me the sack' button, but I know it works in FM07 and it supposedly works in FM08

Ive been sucessful once will managing West Ham. I was still in all competitions 5 in the league and i needed money to buy some quality signings. I wanted to see if the board would allow and they did. Now i have 25 mil to spend

I was successful recently in FM08. Got promoted as winners of League 2 and had 130k in the transfer kitty & they started me in season 2 with just 40k. The bank balance was nearly 5x higher than at the start of season 1 so I issued the ultimatum for more transfer funds & they gave me 450k. I spent every penny & am currently in 6th with half the season to go.

Before that my last success with it was in FM06, and that was asking for more time to rebuild the squad.

Only of 2007 at Rangers.

Asked 3 times for more money, the 3rd time I gave an ultimatum and they gave me an increase. This was all before the first summer window closed in my first season. I won my previous game to giving the ultimatum 4-1, maybe this helped.

Never tried on 2008 yet.
