lads i tried to post this on the support for pc users forum but no help!


bought fm 08 today but cant play it because the white screen just comes up when the splash screens are finished.

its driving me insane and i read the topic about common problems and tried all of them that had to do with the white screen and nothing helps.

didnt have this problem with the demo so just cant understand whats going on??

Have you tried to add any logos, kits or skins to your game?

i did but deleted them all again when it wasnt working for me.

please tell me you can help!! this is torture not being able to play!!

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled? And removed any/all 3rd party add-ons (kits, logos, etc)?

Firstly, you will have to make sure you have removed everything you added from where you added it.

Secondly, you will have to delete the cache that was created (which the game will be loading each time so the error is still happening)

You can delete the cache folder by browsing to CDocuments and Settings\username\Application Data\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008

If that still doesn't work you should try doing a clean reinstall. There are instructions for that here (although it's for FM 2007, but the same still applies)

no joy im all out of ideas... even when i install the game i dont seem to be able to find a cache file... something wrong with the disk perhaps?

Do a copmplete clean uninstall including the registry and hidden files then start again.
