errm.....i wouldn't necessarily call it the AI adjusting to your tactic.
more like the AI trying to keep things realistic. I have seen many times how the AI scores right from the kick-off!! My jaws drop in sheer disbelief at how one player takes the ball from the start-up pass dribble through my entire team and slots home cooly!
This happens especially if you are a **** poor team and you are massively overacheiving. Just last night i was playing as watford and scored first against Arsenal at Ashburton. My tactiscs have kept Arsenal on the backfoot for well sometime now then i made the mistake of scoring....Well, lo and behold before i could finish punching my fist in the air, the ball was at the back of my net. One of their players took the ball after the game restarted, run straight through my team from the centre circle and scored. I don't think it was even 1 minute after i scored!!
I don't know what it is, whether it is a sudden bump in attributes that creates these ridiculous scenarios so as to prevent the super-tactic situation, but it is really annoying.
As soon as you score the opposition players all of a sudden become possessed.
There is nothing wrong with trying to keep things realistic but what is the point if it is at the expense of ridiculously manufactured scenarios? What is the point of the 2D screen if it is going to spit out such garbage just to "realistically" prove that Arsenal are miles better than Watford could ever be?

@ Rashidi1 - That was sort of a joke mate, I am trying exactly as you've told me all along; Try to get the defense sorted out first before becoming adventurous. Hence an "Ultra Defensive" back four guarded by a defensive midfielder who's sole job is to stay back and mop up.
I moved Alonso forward into the CM role, Gerrard out to the right (he swaps continually with Kewell), and employed Sissoko as the DMC as, in my opinion, he's the best defensive midfielder in the game - just look at his stats; Awesome DM.
In Alonso's 1st game there his match rating was 10 by half-time and Stevie G could play anywhere you ask him to.
So now my Midfield is officially "Solid".
PS - rashidi1, was that the first hint of you losing your patience? I have that effect sometimes

Starr_Man5 - Could you post a link to that Weegie Update as I want to make sure I've got the right one?
Is it very professional or are there constant mistakes in it? I'm a Liverpool fan so I'd like to know how players such as Ryan Bable have been rated in this update.
I too have got a bit tired of the game and I think they should have released FM 08 a bit sooner but this may keep me occupied till it is released.

Sadly, there's bound to be a down side, and this tactic will be no different; I'll enjoy it for the first 8-10 league games until the game "beats it" and I give up yet again.
Don't think that the game beats tactics, as good tactics combined with a good team rarely lose. I am currently on an unbeaten league streak with Newcastle lasting 121 games over 3 seasons. All i do is change between my high pressing hard tackling tactic and my slow patient tactic. The game doesnt crack tactics it is just that your tactic will not suit every situation that you faced with. Man U do not play the same way against Arsenal and Lpool as they do against Birminham and Derby.

Question to Rashidi: you said that with a defensive tactic you would rarely close down in the back. So your fullbacks would also not be doing a lot of CD. Isn't your side exposed to a lot of crosses then?

Wow bearsy. A 121-game unbeaten streak?! Man, I've really got to take a look at your tactics. The longest I've ever played FM'07 is 3 seasons, after which the game ceased to be fun to play.
