It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Another Seperate batch of default tactics?

Whilst playing around with my skin settings in the program files, i noticed that there was another folder called tactics containing lots of different tactics. Whilst many of them are simply more default tactics there are also some in very weird formations. After inspecting most of them on my game, they are all just simply default tactics (i think), apart from one.

On this one called 5-3-2 SCG, it is fairly basic but it is a really outrageous formation and there are a few starting team instructions.

Also in the folder is the XML for which you have the player instructions templates.

I was just wondering whether anybody has ever tried or found these other tactics especially 5-3-2 SCG.

What interests me is why are they separated from the other tactics? Maybe someone from Si could answer about this?

Please have a look for yourself as I haven't looked at every single one.

They can be found here:

Local Disk C - Program Files - Sports Interactive - Football Manager 2007 - Data - Tactics

I appoligise if I am simply hyping something very boring or common knowledge, I am just intruiged.

Many Thanks

Warrenwwr, What do you expect me to do? The only possible use is a different tactic!

I was simply wondering why they were there, had anybody found them before and why they had already been changed in some cases.

My main question was why they had been seperated from our other default tactics.

I think they're user tactics that worked in previous games, but I'm not sure. I've seen them before, but I don't think the AI uses them.

They seem to be the formations used by the game AI. However they aren't much use to us as nearly all don't include more than basic team/player instrutions (i.e. the important stuff) as these will be constantly changing depending on the team/manager/situation using the formation.

I think i actually recognise that 5-3-2 SCG formation from my brief stint playing in the Serbian league!

When I played in Brazil, by default i had a tactic that went by the name of 4-2-2-2br so the ones you found are default tactics for other countries.
