ive taken charge of whitton albion in my second seasona fter resigning from qpr, whitton are really poor and im losing 4-0 5-0 i cant keep goals out or score them, except in a friendly against my reserves i drew 5-5 my goalkeepers couldnt save a shot if there lives depended on it, wondered if any of you kind souls could give me some advice. (except of course give up) ive managed some pretty shabby teams in the past but these are the biggest bunch of jokers yet, cant loan any decent players and have about 7k to spend, need a really good tight defensive formation thanks
We don't really recommend people come in here and directly ask for a tactic.
If you could give more information on the kind of tactic you're using then perhaps it'd be easier to point you in the right direction.
Typically with smaller teams like them , the idea has to be on focusing on several areas
1. Fitness training so they out run, outmuscle the opposition
2. With lack of fund, the freemarket is a very important area to focus on, you will need players with pace and determination
3. Finally keep your tactic simple.
Since you are playing in the lower leagues, play a high pressure tactic that focus closing down high in their third that way the low composure stats and concentration stats of the defenders get exploited.
There's more on this style of playing in a thread called creating tactics a reasoned approach and then there are threads from wwwfan you should read to. Overall the bible is a good place to start.
