It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

So let’s get the first day out of the way and set about creating some new training schedules which will be tailored for the stats I think are important for the positions I create the regimes for. I have decided to create 9 brand new schedules which are;

Keepers

http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/6564/keeperbk0.jpg

The reason this schedule is heavier than the rest, is due to the fact that goalkeepers need to be worked more in training in my opinion, due to them not being as involved in play. Therefore you can push them slightly harder in training than players who play elsewhere on the pitch.

Defenders

http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/2858/defenderpz4.jpg

All I am aiming to do here is to train defenders to do exactly that; defend and nothing less and nothing more.

Fullbacks

http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/3...llbackswk8.jpg

Slightly different from the defenders schedule, because I am wanting my fullbacks to play a more important role. I want them to support attacks as well as defending. So I opted for the more attacking approach to training for this regime.

Defensive Mid’s

http://img471.imageshack.us/img471/6421/defmidxd7.jpg

A bit like the defenders, all I need these players to do is break up play and be super fit. Anything else is a bonus, however I think this schedule could be very good, I guess time will tell.

Central Mids

http://img471.imageshack.us/img471/6329/mcbz8.jpg

I don’t really know which way to go with this yet, I am going to go for how it is in the screenshot for now. I may change this one though when I see what sort of MC’s I can bring into the club. If they have more attacking stats, then I can probably take a more attacking option for training. But for now, this should be more than good enough.

Wingers

http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/6585/wingerszi5.jpg

From the screenshot, it should be pretty obvious as to what I am expecting from these guys. When I say wingers btw, I mean ML,MR,AMR,AML only.

Attacking Mids

http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/48/amclv1.jpg

The reason I am doing this schedule is pretty obvious too, I am training all the important stats. I believe this to be a good blend.

Striker

http://img471.imageshack.us/img471/874/strikerpn0.jpg

Hopefully this should prove a very good schedule, I’m pretty confident about this one.

Strong Striker

http://img471.imageshack.us/img471/7797/targetzt7.jpg

I always like to use at least 1 strong striker if possible, so I may as well create a schedule for him that helps work on his attacking aspects of the game as well as improving his physical side of things.

Default The Sheffield United Project (A dicussion about tweaking, training, tactics, scout reports and more)

As I have now started a new career game with Sheffield United, I thought it might be a good idea to go detail and give you a insight into how I react to certain situations, develop a tactic and training schedule from scratch, amongst other things. Hopefully I can do this for the entire first season. I doubt I will go into detail beyond the first season, as it will take too much time. Plus we should have already covered most situations by this time. All I intend to do is list every instruction I change in game, before a game, look at the stats, and hopefully some of you might find this interesting and learn something about the way I play my game. I’m not saying this is a definite guide on how you should play the game all I am doing is expressing the way I play and not you.

Ignore all things I have achieved with this club in the past, this game will be different because I intend to play this long term and not short term. So what that basically means is my transfers I make will probably be youth players or players for the future rather than getting players who will be first team players now. I’m not saying I won’t bring the odd player in who can play now and enhance my squad in some way, but my plan is long term rather than short term. I am also creating a brand new schedule that I have never used before and will be monitoring that through out the season too. So this could have a negative effect if I don’t get it right. I’ve no idea why I’m changing schedules though, as the ones I normally use perfectly. I guess it’s because I want to show people how I play the game and I wouldn’t be doing that properly if I just listed my old regimes.

I have no idea how this project is going to go, it might be rubbish or amazingly good I will update this as regular as I can but I am writing all of this up as I play a game so I don’t forget what I’ve changed and stuff. So please be patient with me and don’t keep pestering asking me when the next part if coming etc as I will update as and when I can. But as you can probably tell it is very time consuming and is going to take a lot of effort. I wont be making the tactic and training for download, however all the details will in my posts, should you wish to recreate them, but please don’t ask me to upload the files as I will ignore all requests.

My plan is simple, all I am going to do is survive the first season. In my game where I won the league the first season with Sheffield United I had to compete at the top with no money and 8 players who where from the original line up of when you start the game. When your playing in Europe with a squad like that, you realise what a task it is. I may very well win the league this go too, however I am hoping to try and take the game to certain teams rather than play defensive through out season one as I did on that game. I am hoping for a top 12 finish this time around, if I can achieve that then I will be happy. But any more than that will be a bonus.

Quite surprised to see tactics training so low for goalkeepers. Mine is on maxed because it improves a lot of gk attributes. Other then that the other trainings look similiar to mine, same lines of thinking anyways.

I don't find tactical training to be much use for keepers. there are some stats it alters yea, but not that many in all honesty. You can tell its not too important by the default keeper schedule where its only just on medium. I find it doesn't make much difference, due to the majority of them being mental stats it has a impact on. I try not to have keepers with low mental stats.

But its something I might tinker with after a while and see if it impproves my stats any better. Which ones do you find it has most impact on?

In fact i wanna test it now, might load up another save and test it

Mate, tactics training for keepers improves these area's ->

Anticipation, Command of Area, Communication, Decisions, Positioning and Rushing Out.

That's according to the game and my general observation

So, you decided to start a guide...the best thing you could do, since you seem to know a lot about the game. I am sure it will be an excellent tool to learn from a specialist.

How did you find out it did Command of area? I understood that was under goalkeeper training, seeing as its a goalkeeper only stat. By it being in tactics that means outfield would be able to train it too. I thought all the things an outfield player cannot train come under goalkeeping catergory? I guess I'm wrong then?

I still find my players improve all round with it on light though, I had COA jump 3 points for 1 player so not bad I guess.
