I play with wingers & I obviously have them crossing the ball often but should you use this for any other players, like centre halfs, full backs, centre mids or attacking mids?

Also which positions should i use the through ball option, everyone except my centre halfs?

Crossing ball should be assigned to players such as your wingers and fullbacks. If you give it to your central midfield players they will come out of natural positions to cross which isn't always a good thing.

Through ball option needs to take the type of game you are playing into account. If you are playing a defennsive possession game and are not going forward a lot then often through balls will just give possession away and invite trouble.

If you are attacking and trying to get forward all the time then through balls are a good idea.

Bear in mind the passing attribute for when assigning through balls too.

Through ball should not be used on wingers unless they have impressive atributes on passing and anticipation. instead of runing with the ball or a good cross they will try a quick pass and most of the time they will fail.

I actually find through balls very suitable instruction to give your wingers. If your wingers are slowish, or not great crossers and dribblers, and your strikers are small and fast, you can build a very dangerous tactic around this.

You set your wingers TTB, You give a lot of creative freedom and FWR, RWB to sour strikers and FWR to at least one MC.

This will result wingers finding quickly the strikers in positions good for either crossing or shooting. If your winger is decent passer this is a great tactic rather than trying to beat 1-on-1 the full back...
