It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Goals from Midfield

I'm currently playing a 4-1-3-2 with a combination of a TM and a floating, creative FC next to him up front.

The central midfielder is the team's playmaker and is set to pretty much dictate everything, he has FR - mixed, RWB mixed, TTB Often, Cross rarely and hasn't a huge amount of defensive responsibility.

The wide men are playing as M R/L with arrows to the AM R/L positions. They have FR Often, RWB Mixed, TTB/Cross Mixed, and again not a huge amount of defensive responsibility.

While my front men are scoring for fun, I find my midfield are scoring quite rarely despite having the freedom to go forward, and when they do score it's usually a cracker from range.

Any help to get them more on the score sheet would be appreciated.

I am currently pulling my hair out creating a 4-1-3-2 tactic with 3 MC's.

I think i read that getting strikers to cross the ball from byline leads to more goals from the midfield but i'm not sure how sucessful this is.

I know what you mean though wanting a Lampard or Gerrard type midfielder who will contribute 20 goals a season.

P.S. How do you post screenshots?

Well I'm currently playing as Arsenal, with RvP and Adebayor as the front 2, with Cesc playmaking, and obviously I want to create his great goalscoring form this season

Maybe if you set the MC's Foward runs to often it will encourage him to get into the box more.
I think using the DMC as a playmaker might work better aswell as he can sit back and distribuite balls all across the park.

you should give your midfielders more ceratie freedom, attacking mentality and forward runs to encourage them to go forward.

perhaps a free role for your playmaker as well.

my experience is that a MC with Fwd run often is more of a goal scoring threat than a AMC.

reason is that the AMC starting position is too close to the DCs, so he normally gets closed down once he has the ball, or marked when running into the box...

the MC once drifting away from the opposition MC is usually unmarked just inside the penalty area, provided he has fwd run often...

if the strikers are mobile enough to pull the DCs away, the MC has a direct route to goal... he can get the ball either from the MCd/DMC or from the wingers....

AMC is better position for rebound tap ins though... it depends what u are looking for..

for wingers, i try not to give them long fwd arrows.. just short ones to the AMR/AML position... they run to that spot to either pick up the long ball from defense or the through pass from central midfield....
cut in and take a shot at goal... if ur strikers have pulled the DCs out of position.. and the FB maybe drawn to a fwd run of a MCa, then the winger has a 1 on 1 goal scoring opportunity...

try it

use amc without fwd run and med run wit ball. Use long shots and short passing. Creative freedom should be pretty high. but it all depends on ur player. The better the stats, more chance that he will score.
Recomended players are Van Der Vaat, Raul Garcia.

The midfielder that really scores less for me is the wingers but they assist
