It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

If your players are schmuck then short passing at high tempo is suicidal, you could of course use it for 1 or 2 players if you want the DM to be the focal point. In that case make the MCs have passing of 1. They will look to the DM first as an outlet and if he is set to direc passing, you have a rapid attack pattern </BLOCKQUOTE>

It is a interesting advice. I am heading into my second season as the LLS (Lower League Supremo) , and I will give it a try in the friendlies.

So far the only successful attacking move have been the targetman and the superfast wingers I guess it is time for change

I play LLM a lot but I have to stay here.. :-( if you want a high tempo game in lower league then you need to play a mixed attack with direct passing, punctuated with strong pacey frontmen, always works. That strategy got out of conference south and into the Championship

This is pretty much what I try to do at home. Tempo=12-14, passing=12-14, normal mentality.

If I see my passing is not working well I reduce tempo to about 8 and effectively change my tactic from attack to control to reduce counter-attacks.

I tried Tempo=12-14, passing=6-8 combination but it was a disaster. The player with the ball would quickly pass to the closest guy, he in turn will pass to the closest (usually the first guy ) and so on until the opposition closes down and takes the ball away .

The same applies to when you are reading scout reports...if a scout report comes back telling you that a team has a mixed attack, you need to be vary.
