I'm going to start again as Newcastle.
The following are the areas I would like to improve...

I want a good keeper to take over Given when his stats start to decline. I was thinking about Craig Gordon... how old is he and what should I expect to pay?

Backup for Left-Back - Gareth Bale? Nicky Shorey?

Backup for Defensive Midfield - Would Dessena fare well at his young age?

Central Defense - Got a great player in Taylor but I could do with another rock... will Edgar be good enough?

Attacking Midfield - Bought Cani and D'Alessandro last time, looking to go in a different direction this time. Balazs Dzsudzsak looks good for the price.

A player for when Owen gets too old... Danny Haynes on my old save, didn't reach the potential I expected.

Any advice would be very much appreciated and very welcome

my advice is that they are not too old yet so save your money for regens in the 2nd/ 3rd seasons i have got two in my 2nd season with PA'S of 197/198

I'm definitely going to get Dzsudzsak, can't ignore the tiny price.

Goalkeeper- As Given is getting older, you'll want to invest for the future. Perhaps Vincent Enyeama or Marcelo Grohe?

Left-back- Both good options. If you have enough money (and he wants to come) maybe look at Marcelo from R Madrid (5.5 mil release clause)

Defensive Midfield- Dessena would be fine as back up. Banega is another obvious choice. For more experience, Torrado from Cruz Azul has never disppointed for ME.

Central Defense- Wouldn't count on Edgar. Definitely Breno (Sao Paulo) for the future but for the here and now perhaps Carlos Salcido or Diego Lugano. Also, just seen Vidal from Leverkusen, great stats although he probably won't leave.

Attacking midfield- Luka Modric, Marko Marin and Ivan Rakitic have always been good for me. For something different, try Anton Sosnin from Zenit St Peterburg.

Striker- Genero Zeefuik and Henri Saivet anre definitely ino Owen's class (or better) but need a little nuturing to bring out their immense talent. Amauri from Palermo is available for around 9 mil at the start of the game but Lyon seem to always bid for him so try him if you have suffcient funds.
