Board and fans: battle bravely
We go full time at the beginning of the season and are allowed to scout in the region rather than only in Portugal. This however hardly turns out to be a dramatic change, as still nobody is interested in joining us, at least not on the wages we can offer. Also, every staff member asks for roughly six times his current wages to resign, and half the playing squad gets a pay rise after promotion, putting us in a rather precarious financial position. Four players come in during the pre-season, and a further four in January, for a combined fee of 30k. Eleven leave on frees.
With an inferior squad and no means of strengthening, we flirt with relegation the whole season; in the first seven games we pick up one goal and two points. I tinker with the tactics and we improve somewhat, but throughout the season we find it hard to score: the Guinean striker is getting on a bit and has lost much of his pace, and the other forwards score two between them. Luckily our defence is relatively tight and despite being in the relegation zone for practically the first half of the season, we never fall away too far. By January my scouts manage to find some players abroad, and in come two French AM/FC's, a Cameroonian midfielder and a Spanish winger. Thanks to their contribution we manage to get good results in crucial relegation clashes and finish in 13th place, just a single point above the drop. League: 13th

Top scorer was one of the French guys with 8 goals, the Guinean managed 6. A Cape Verdean full back and the Spanish winger also did alright, the rest was mediocre to poor. Pacey DM came third in the young player of the year award, and my GK was on the bench in the team of the season.
Cup sucked, thrashed 0:5 by Rio Ave in 4th round. We filled our stadium for every home game, but with a measly 2000 capacity it didn't amount to much and we ended the season over 200k in debt.
Porto were champions, Benfica won the cup. In the Champions' League Arsenal beat Milan in the final, and Rangers lifted the UEFA Cup after a victory over Leverkusen.
