Season 10/11
The Board expects a respectable league position and the bookies rate us as 6-4 for the title . I am not too sure of that prediction but will be happy to emulate last seasons finish. No cash to spend yet again but I am hoping that the upcoming Euro Cup tie will inject some much needed cash into the clubs coffers.
Port Talbots Euro Adventure
Drawn against Cherno more of Bulgaria we were written off by everyone so playing some mind games with my team led to a very close match with an early goal by Cherno canceled by a 90th minute equaliser. The 2nd leg played out much the same way with the scores tied at 1-1 (2-2) the match went to extra time. A goal straight after the start of the 2nd period of extra time made me spill coffee on myself with another goal coming in the 119th minute ment that even a consolation goal for Cherno ment that Port Talbot ran out deserved winners \o/ 3-2 (4-3).
The 2nd qualifying round paired us with St. Etienne of France. The 1st leg was a one sided affair with the players managing to keep St. Etienne at bay with my defence only conceding 1 goal. The 2nd leg was going well until one of my players decided that he didn't like the French and headbutted  one of their players getting sent off in the process. We then lost 2 late goals to go out of the Euro cup to a 2-0(3-0) loss to St. Etienne.
Back to the league, We started poorly and got worse before we got better. Going out of all the cups early as usual and the Title Challenge predicted by the Bookies never materialised. Sitting in 11th in January with no real chance of getting higher than 6th place I started to apply for other jobs...
...After being rejected by Cork City in the Irish Premier League I was offered the Bangor Job in the Northen Ireland 2nd Division I accepted the new job leaving Port Talbot at the end of January. After joining I had a look at the league only to find out that Bangor were sitting last with a 9 point gap between us and 2nd bottom and 5 games remaining /o\. Checking the rules I discovered that the bottom 2 teams go into a relegation playoff to decide who plays in the 2nd division. Bangor finished dead last even after wining 4 of the last 5 games, this included beating the winners of the league 2-0 but no matter into the playoffs we go.
Relegation Playoff
Lisburn Rangers vs Bangor. A close first leg resulted in a 0-1 win for Bangor and going into the 2nd leg I was a bit worried by the threat Lisburn had in the 1st leg, well there was no need to worry as we ran out eventual 7-0 winners with Bangor being 5-0 up at half time. The 8-0 agg. win ensures that I have a job for next season
Port Talbot finished 12th in the WPL
Bangor City finished 12th in the NI 2nd Div and were out of all the cups before I joined.
