Season Ten (15/16): (Oxford United Stars, Northern Irish Premier Division)

Media Prediction: 16th
Board expectations: Fight bravely against relegation
Fans expectations: Fight bravely against relegation

Again the season started terribly, I lost the first 8 league matches and with no-one else looking like replicating the wonderfully awful performance of Glenavon last season, I already had a lot to do. When I did win my first match, I was serving a touchline ban at the time. Maybe I should just go on holiday for the entire season?

The win inspired a new confidence in my team and we went on a 9 match unbeaten run which took us to the brink of a top half place  We stayed in midtable for the rest of the season and finished 10th

There was more success in the Irish Cup where victories against Ratihfriland, Armagh, Lisburn Distillery (aet) and Bangor (aet) set up a final with Glenavon. After the most boring 120 minutes of football ever, my players kept their cool slightly better than the opposition in the shootout and we took a 4-2 victory. Woohoo! UEFA Cup Qualification! We are ready to conquer Europe! Or possibly get knocked out in the first round by some no-name amateurs from the Faroe Islands.

Final Position: 10th (P30 W11 D4 L15 F28 A38 Pts37)
Irish Cup: Winners
League Cup: Group Stage
Transfers: 2 in, 17 out
Average Attendance: 257

Was drawn against Grasshopper Zurich in the UEFA Cup First Qualifying Phase and lost 3-0 away and 1-0 at home. After ten seasons, I am now bored of managing OUS and have decided to resign.

Now looking for a new job.

I do hope you don't live to regret that decision.

Well nobody seemed to be in a particular rush to employ me and I got laught at by any team in Jockland or Poofland in the Conference National or above that I declared interest in. Then in the middle of December:

Season Eleven (16/17): (Frickley Athletic, Conference North)

Media Prediction: 6th
Board expectations: Mid-table
Fans expectations: Mid-table

I took over the team 20 matches into the season and they were in 19th just one point above relegation. However, the team was far better than their position showed and this was reflected on my expectations and predictions and with the league so close, a top half finish was still not out of the question. The media however, decided that I didn't have enough managerial experience to save Frickley from relegation. Suddenly, my 10 seasons in Northern Ireland seem more of a waste than ever.

I got of to a great start and was unbeaten for 14 matches, a run which was halted by a 3-0 defeat against eventual winners Hucknall. I continued to perform very well and by the final game of the season I was just one point off a play-off spot. Unfortunatly, despite dominating in my final match against Harrogate, I lost 1-0.

Despite my good form, the fans didn't seem to interested. The average attendance before I took over was 280 yet I didn't break the 200 mark at any home game. Do I really need to tell you that that destroyed my finances?

Final Position: 8th (P42 W18 D11 L13 F59 A51 Pts65)
FA Cup: Second Qualifying Round
FA Trophy: Second Qualifying Round
Average Attendance: 231

The days of European competition and the money they bring are now long behind you.
But with the team you appear to have in Frickley Ath you should be in the conference national by the end of next season good luck.
