I don't think this problem occurs if you use the default one.
I started as a former Amature player as I played for Sutton Town as a youth player, making the reserves on a few occasions. Dispite my advancing years I now play for the army getting paid to train and play.
I hope this covers me as an Amature player?

It seems the international job offer problem may be linked to the status you choose.
It's been mooted as a cause anyway.

I start with the default status & haven't been offered a job at any level although I'm in my 7th season and haven't been a complete flop

Default setting for me next time, an international job offer after 2 seasons is a joke, no wonder England are in the s**t if they think I'm there saving-grace.
BTW are telling me my e is disabled Kriss

he had big plans for me at a town called Hvidovre, so out came the atlas.
I find that quite funny.. Hvidovre is actually a part of Copenhagen and not really a town - more like a suburb of Copenhagen.

Darn it I really should have got the atlas out. I'll google it later.

I set it to automatic, after 5 seasons I'm still listed as unproven.

My reputation is currently at National  I'm not sure what it started at, this into my forth season BTW. But surely a former amateur player would have unknown management qualities, there-fore would be unproven/obscure at best.

It seems to depend on the nation you're managing in. Playing in Wales and starting out with Automatic settings, my rep reached national within a year. Probably because there is only one playable league in Wales and its the top one.

Season 4 2009/2010 Still Nvidovre

After the good form I had at the end of last season, I felt it was unnecessary to strengthen the squad, (plus my scout couldn't find a whore in brothel).
An excellent start meant I was top after 8 games, but my first defeat was followed by 3 others, taking me down to 8th. I managed to compose the team, winning the remaining 3 games to midseason break taking me back up to 4th.

The midseason rest meant a lot transfer activity. I received impressive bids for about 6 of my first team regulars, :thdn: including £150,000 bids for 2 players formally from my youth team. It was not my intention to sell any players, but my chairman had other idea’s accepting a bid of £350,000 from Vejle for the Danish DC I signed last season.

The loss of my DC was a huge blow as I didn’t have any quality back-up. During the remaining friendly matches I experimented playing the Ghana born D/DMC (signed from AB on a free in the first season) at the back to great effect, his position in midfield would need to be filled but I had strength in depth in this department, with several reserves knocking on the door of first team football.

Back to the league I managed to maintain the form shown just before the break and remain in the top 3 (it was like watching Birmingham sometimes, playing like a bunch of school kids and nicking a win). With 3 games left I was 2nd playing 3rd and after a 3-1 win I was promoted due to Bromby II top and KB 3rd, being unable to go up as they were reserve teams to Danish Premier clubs. I gained 53 points and was only 3 behind 1st and 6 ahead of 3rd in the end. Promotion at long last!
Cups <STRIKE>didn't</STRIKE> suck ass this year as I made the 4th round beating FC Nordsjaelland of the premier en route.

P.O.S…Rapid Danish FC (again) 7.27 15 gls 7 ast 4 m.o.m
Top goal-scorer… Rapid Danish FC (again) 15 gls, also top league goal-scorer.

Australia beat Ivory Coast in the World Cup Final on pens.
Denmark never got past the group stage, and the only British team on show, England were knocked out by Portugal in the second round. (DéjÃ* vu me thinks).

USA’s powerful forward was both top player and goal scorer, beating Ivory Coast and Chelski’s powerful forward to both accolades.
