Michal and I say Staff Search...the new blokes say stick with it.
What do you choose? | Hm, I see I didn't make myself very clear there. I was afraid to sound a little too tippy, but here goes. I stuck to the job centre in my Italian save and found out the unemployed donkeys only apply when you have continued the advert a couple of times.
I have no problem whatsoever with people who use the staff search out of dissapointment with the job centre.

I'm with Joren on this one.
Whenever i've played lower league in Italy I have had no problem attracting staff via the job centre; it sometimes just takes a few adverts before you receive any response though.

What do you choose? | I think the new blokes are right in principle, but in this case pragmatism>priniciples.
Having said that, I'm not sure if the job centre has failed me yet in 07. Maybe in the online clan where 10 of us are going for the same staff...

I'm not being dogmatic about it, I can understand why you would want to succeed with a particular club & therefore would find this frustrating and a tad unrealistic tbh.
I just go where the wind blows me so failure at any club is no more than another bookmark on the way to wherever. Lack of staff has never been key in my many failures, I often blame staff ineptitude but the chairmen always blame me
I don't know how many stars it takes before your training is effective, which is probably the important point. I mean if you can scrape up one star for each discipline does that actually mean your players won't decline at all?

My (scant) experience with LLM so far, has shown that the Job Centre works, but it might take some time for some useful staff to apply.
That said, i ve only managed in England's lower leagues (Greece's second division is hardly LLM), so i guess my opinion is of no great value to the original poster. |

A quick experiment reveals that even the most abysmal coach gives you one star in each discipline by default, so the question really does become. Is that enough to maintain the status quo?

I think its different for part-timers and full-time players. It would appear to me that one star is good enough for a part-time to maintain his (questionable to begin with) skills, but not so for someone on a full-time contract.
