True. I'd asked another one regarding my team having played shedloads of friendlies and resulting in my balance being quite high. I kinda knew that was unrealistic when I posted the question and had no problems starting again when told so.

This one, I feel, seems perfectly plausible so I reckon I may give it a go. To be honest, watching an U19 game or Montrose verses Elgin in a League challenge cup match on FM would probably be worse than having to watch it in real life.

Or then again, maybe not.....

God invented scouts for 2 reasons.

1. So you don't have to die of terminal boredom.

2. So you have someone else to blame when the bright young prospect turns into a donkey.

Oi! Norm, you leave Elgin out of this, they're a quality side. I'm off up there on Saturday.

Sorry Scott, I should've been clearer.

I was, obviously, refering to Montrose in that statement.....

Oi! Norm, you leave Montrose out of this. I'm enjoying a great Montrose career right now.

I was actually offered the Montrose job when I started my game.

But the paltry £40 p/w wages just wasn't enough, and they were having none of the £100 p/w I negotiated for.

Since Newtown did up their £80 p/w demand to £100 p/w, I took theirs instead.

I mean, the missus would kill me if I jacked in my job for £40 p/w. Hell, she earns more money than me know IRL, never mind in FM world.

Now before you all jump on me, I'm not questioning LLM ethics, just the reasoning behind them.

If I'm a part time manager at say......... Bromley, but in real life I go and see a mid-week League 2 Barnet game, then is it realistic that I use my knowleadge of players on view?

I must admit to being slightly confused by the attempt to remove all real life knowleadge gained before your FM career starts. I would have thought that real managers have some limited knowleadge of some players before they accept their first managerial position.

If Bromley offered me the managers job tomorrow in real life, I would have pretty good knowleadge of Barnet players over the last 4-5 years, and a more limited knowleadge of Conference & League 2 players over the same period.

I would also have a more limited knowleadge of Spurs players, (being a follower of them too).

Am I missing something ?

I don't know if my opninion is worth a lot, being the newest kid on the block, but I have been reading around the last two months here, so here's what I was thinking.

I think the question isn't wheter it would be realistic to watch games when you travel back to Scotland, but more how realistic it would be to get players in the Scottisch 3rd division to sign a part-time contract in the Welsh League (I assume you're semi-pro, since you as a manager have a part-time contract). I know if I was a young and talented youngster I would stay in the Scottish League, because the league has a lot more standing, and chances of being picked up by a bigger club would be much higher. I don't know if older players would be willing to move to Wales for 20£ a week more either. I think that the scouting limits are more important for limiting you to players that would sign for your team, than defining where you can scout.

Yes.

LLM is a game.

Real life is real life.

Bromley would kick you out if you went along now and tried to tell the manager what to do.

A player would kick you in the chackers if you offered him a contract with Bromley, took him there, and you were kicked out by the manager again.

Easiest way to understand is to keep the two separate.
