Well, Version 7 has really been a challenge so far.
Frank did me no favors....Sent me to Redditch in 2006 where I lasted until Boxing Day and then resigned after getting only 2 points in my last 8 games.
Landed at Scarborough after a month of looking for jobs. Started fast getting 14 points in my first 6 games...It was all downhill from there. I did stave off relegation for them the first year. The next season was a bigger challenge. With High expectations, I struggled to maintain even a mid table existence, so after just a few days over 1 year at The McCain Stadium, and I was sacked again.
Eight weeks later and I was north of Hadrian's Wall at Berwick. I got them up to third place that first season, but they lost in the playoffs. The next year was more of the same: Third place, but losing in the playoffs, but at least I lasted more than a year! The following year, after being tagged for promotion by the bookies, Berwick slumped to 8th place and in March of that season, I was back on hte road, homeless and wandering the British Isles looking for work.
Starting my 4th season, I land a job with my 4th team: Hyde. Man they suck. I thought Redditch was bad!!!!
Well, so far so good. Despite the team looking like crap when I inheirited it, the year was pretty successful.
Started with a balance of over £400,000 in my Net Worth. Liquidated most of THAT in the year , but brought in 9 players for £30,000 that all ended up in my first team. After a slow start, we closed with a rush, (Well OK a semi-rush) but did endup 1 point behind Lancaster (my former save! Does that count as a Derby??? ) and a matchup with the Dolly Blues on the Final Day!!!! A 0:0 draw was all I could muster to finish 1 point out of the playoffs. So despite going thru my chairman's money like a drunken sailor, he still likes me. Next season, he's hoping for mid stable safety. Me? I want a Promotion!!!!!!!
An improvement, but still disappointing. Sold off 9 players for a total of £54,000. Brought in 3 players on Frees including a badly needed GK. Until now they were always loaned. now I got one of my own!!! Although he's starting to appear to be injury prone. Briefly rode the top of the table before fading to third place. Lost at Home at the Ewan Fields 0:3 to Hinkley and followed up with a 0:1 loss away to flame out in the semi-finals. Will spend the off season looking for more firepower.

I've been flailing away at FM06 again recently. Do your scouts actually turn up players for loan in this year's model?
