Quick Update 2012-2013

Leyton Orient approached me to manage their club and stave off relegation in Division 1. They currently reside in 18th place, 4 points clear of relegation with a game in hand. Hyde were underachieving and wracked by injuries. Picked for promotion, the timing to leave was impeccable. The Os offerred me £300 per week (up from £90/week) and a transfer budget of £117,000  How could I pass up this chance?

Season 6 2012-2013 Leyton Orient

Well, taking over for a team on the verge of relegation, things started out slowly as you would expect. The Os started out losing 5 out of their first 6 leaving them in 20th place, 1 point clear of relegation. But after changing formations, and Portsmouth offerring us a Kinsashian striker for free who made a quick impact, we ended up on an 8 game unbeaten streak to finish in 15th place.

Season 7 2013-2014 Leyton Orient

Big news was that among the seven players I brought in for 25,000 was an african AM that Man City offerred me for free. This guy was valued at 1,500,000  and was awesome. The team struggled through the first half of the season, consistently flirting with relegation and even briefly falling to last place. But once we got healthy and I brought in some quality, things looked up, so that the O's finished in 14th place just below where the fans wanted us (the top half). The bad news however, is that the red ink is flowing like a river. I am afraid I won't be able to hold onto Mr. Wonderful. Derby keeps offerring me a bargain basement offer which I keep rejecting. I'm holding out for enough to clear the red ink plus give me some transfer funds. I hope Mr Chairman doesn't sell him out from under me!

Season 8 2014-2015 Leyton Orient

Well, I couldn't hold him, but I did get £850,000 for him! I was able to turn that into 5 good players including a ST from Brighton for £100,000! All told, I brought in 5 players for £200,000 and off-loaded 9 other players for £75,000 on top of Mr Wonderful.

Cups still remain **** as I crash out of both the League Cup and the FA Cup on my first appearance in them. The Johnstone Paint Shield, (who-hoo) I made to the Southern Tier Final before going out on penalties to Shrewsbury. The season followed the same pattern as the previous one. Starting tin the lower half of the table before closing strong to finish mid-table and meet the fans and board's expectations! as I finished in 12th place.

I was rewarded with a new two year contract at £775 per week! I also have about £500,000 to spend in transfer cash. I'd like to make a run at promotion this year.

Season 9 2015-2016 Leyton Orient

Maybe I should just go on holiday for the first 2/3rds of the season. I spent £250,000 bringing in 9 players in the hopes of chasing promotion. It didn't work. We struggled mightily against relegation most of the season only to finish 18th losing only once in the last 12 matches of the season. My goal for this game is to eventually manage Stoke City, and the Potters job came open right as things were looking up a little. I had gone 2-1-0 outscoring my opponents 6:2 when I applied for the open manager's position. OOPS! Bad move. My directors were irate and offered me the opportunity to resign to protect my reputation. I refused and then proceeded to see the O's go out and lose to Bristol City 0:4 !

After that debacle at Ashton Gate, we finished on an eight game unbeaten streak to save my job again. Now,if I can get them to play all season the way they played the last 12, we can make a push for promotion.
