Lukewarm

have just completed my first three seasons on my 2007 career save.

The following countries have been loaded (all available leagues): Belarus; Croatia; England; Hungary; Italy; Portugal; Russia; Scotland; Slovenia; Spain and Ukraine.

My starting point was at Zagorje in Slovenian division 2, a tiny little club with a 2,000 capacity stadium that appear to be a major feeder club for 1st division Publikum.


2006/07

A media prediction of 10th (out of 10) set the alarm bells ringing, but I was never significantly threatened and comfortably finished 7th, 7 points abover the drop zone (9th).

Leading scorer was a little rocket ship that I had on loan from Publikum, with just 8 goals.

Seasons 2 and 3 to follow.

2007/08

Media prediction 8th, only above the newly promoted teams seemed about right, especially as I had no transfer kitty although I did get 4 players in on loan, 2 of which had been here the year before (one been the rocket).

We stormed off and with 5 games to go, were clear by 6 points. I somehow contrived to lose 4 out of those last 5 games including defeats to 2nd placed Factor and 3rd placed Mura missing out not only on promotion but also the playoff spot by 2 points.

Pretty gutted, sick as a parrot etc etc.

Rocket ship was the leading scorer again with 17

2008/09

Media prediction 4th.

I finally managed to get a couple of players in on permanent deals.

The rocket ship, strangely released by Publikum and an a 31 back up striker who could also play in the hole.

I managed to shift out a couple of home grown players to rival clubs for £75k which has eased the finances a bit.

The media couldn't be more wrong.

We romped the league securing the title with two games to go.

Wrapping up the season with a 7-0 hammering of relegated Triglav.

Leading goalscorer (unsurprisingly) was the rocket man with 14.

I await our first season in the top flight with a mixture of trepidation and excitement.

Actually, the media could be more wrong. If they had predicted 5th-10th position, they would have been.

Also, your campaign in the end of second season reminded me of Fluminense, who needed to get 1 point from their last 5 matches to qualify to continental competition, last season. They managed to lose all 5 .

2009/10

Media prediction 9th.

That looked about right for three quarters of the season, but a really good run in the last 10 games lifted us up to 6th, frustratingly one point off of a european spot.

Leading goalscorer was another pacy striker that I picked up on a free from Bela Krajina.

The bad news is that I appear to be losing money hand over fist, despite keeping within my wage budget.

I fear I may not be able to strengthen over the summer.
