Ironically I had reached the semis of the cup and was due to play 2nd division Nafta.

Took the Dravinja job and it didn't last long.
42 days to be precise.
P6 W1 D1 L4 F7 A14 PTS4
A dire squad, with a £380,000 overdraft and zero quality didn't bode well.
In 9th place come the final match of the season, with teams 7th and 8th playing each other, both one point ahed of me. Close, but not close enough. I scrape a draw, they play out a draw, I get relegated.

I quickly picked up the Spartak Nalchik job in the second tier of the Russian league. The first time ever that I had played a season that ran in a calendar year.
Although somewhat bizarely the cup doesn't!
The board expected a safe mid-table position, but initially I struggled badly and was hovering over the relegation zone (or 5 teams!).
With 8 games to go the board were "unsatisfied" and a third sacking/resignation within one and a half seasons was looking a real possiblity.
Amazingly things turned around and "resurgent" Nalchik went the rest of the season unbeaten and claimed the table to finish 11th

We are very well off financially £7.8m in the bank, but no one of any quality wants to sign for me!
