I realize I'm incurring the wrath of the forum leaders here by posting a (sort of) update only two full seasons in, but i simply had to share it to the world.
I'm managing the mighty Ding and we won two successive promotions (don't ask me how, I barely understand it myself). Anyhoo, what should I find in my inbox as I was setting up pre-season friendlies in L2, but an offer from the FA requesting my services as England coach??!!.
I of course accepted. (Much to the horror of the whole nation).
It remains to be seen how I handle 20 Million dollar players. Needless to say I'm afraid. Very afraid. One good thing is that my manager status has gone from 'Useless Ba****d' to a lofty 'Unproven'.
sir, yes sir!
It's a very harsh environment, this LLM forum.
Most newbies (including myself) are very intimidated when it comes to posting here. I shall not return. For your information, there is a word in the dictionary called 'accommodating'.
I'm a newbie going 3 months now, and if you just read the headers and don't be all emotional and sensitive just take the comments on the chin.
And your fellow North American was very very cordial and gave you appropriate advice. I do not understand if there were any harshness involved.
If fact, the harshness I see is from you giving a comment about a dictionary.
My turn to be slightly on the harsh side
Must be all that emo-music coming out these days eh scarab?
You think I was harsh? I was giving you information, and being straight to the point about it. If you expect people are going to kneel before you and 'accommodate' you just because you exploit a loophole in the game, you've got another thing coming.
In addition, LLM is about realism. It wasn't realistic for you to accept the job, as no League 2 manager would ever get that offer in reality.
The reason that people get 'intimidated' by this forum is because they don't bother to read the forum, read some of the posts, and find out what we are about. If you'd have looked about 20 threads down the page, you'd have seen a thread with a similar situation to this was closed. Someone who understands that English is more than just a dictionary would have put two and two together, and figured out that the topic probably isn't one that needed to be discussed here.
If you'd like me to get harsh, I will happily accommodate you.
LLM is about realism, however if it happens in the game, then so be it for that person. Of course it is not realistic.
Then again, if anyone said in 1998 that in 10 years Leeds would be in League One everyone would have scoffed. Sometimes FM's unpredictability is very realistic!!
