After a quick chat with my buddy Frank, he suggested I take a trip to Portugal to manage Futebol Clube Infesta, so to Portugal for me.
Leagues Loaded: England, France, N. Ireland, Portugal, Scotland and Spain (All Divisions)
2006/2007 – Futebol Clube Infesta – Portuguese Second Division B
Media: 3rd Board: Respectable Fans: Respectable
Basically, things were crap right the way through to January, when I decided to leave. Infesta were in tenth place, one point away from relegation upon my departure. (Infesta finished eighth without me.)
U. D. Atlética Gramenet – Spanish Second Division B3
Gramenet offered a whopping 1800 pound one year rolling contract, which I accepted. They were sat in 16th, a relegation play-off zone, four points short of comfort and two points clear of definite relegation. I promptly got the club relegated and resigned as manager.
2007/2008 – C. M. Peralta – Spanish Second Division B3
Peralta was a newly promoted side that offered up a one year contract with the aim of not getting relegated. The club had little in the way of talent, so I sent out my scouts. The club was sitting 18th, but had no realistic chance at avoiding relegation so I left in January and started to apply for some other jobs.
Hucknall Town – English Conference North
Hucknall were sitting in 20th place, just three points from safety, and with 14th just four points above 20th, avoiding relegation looked very possible with fourteen games to play. The battle came right down to the last day of the season. We had to beat Barrow and Hyde had to lose to Farsley. The boys pulled off a good 1-2 win at Barrow, but Hyde thrashed Farsley 4-0. So we got relegated by two little points. So again, I leave a club in a mess of disarray with no safety and look forward.
A switch of regions sees me move to the south for Lewes FC. The team performed very well throughout the season, and our two strikers were in great form. We were in and out of play-off spots all season, and ended in 5th. We were drawn against St. Albans in the semis and won the home leg 1-0, but we never really showed up to the away leg and lost 5-1. Another season in The Conference South for my Lewes team.
