| Is it worth starting one now while everyone is having a tantrum over the patch?
Also, I don't want this for my health. I'd rather SI collated it and got a good idea of what everyone does, likes, and dislikes.

I like the idea, but it would proberbly mean that SI would have to take on extra staff to sort through it, or else release FM09 in 2012 |

Go for it but think carefully about the questions you want answered and how people should rep0ly to make gathering the info easier.
Most people seem quite cool about the patcxh announcement. This would give them something to do for a few days whilst they wait
It will also help newcomers as we see a lot of folk asking for help regarding the questions you ask

Rep Power: 3 | Cookie Boy. I would suggest keeping this thread going for a while in order to finalise exactly what questions should be in the survey.
I've given you my tuppence worth, and maybe you could ask others for feedback on what sort of questions should be asked and also if it should all be yes/no etc.
Have a thing about the questions and then post a draft in here. Then people can suggest alterations that they think might work and you can sort of mull it over and listen to everyones opinions at the same time.
I must admit that I wouldn't start the real thing until the patch is out.
Don't give up on this though. It really is an excellent idea .
As for SI not having the staff to keep track of this thread, I hope it becomes so popular that it becomes an issue.
If you make a success of this it might be reasonable to expect a Mod to sticky it.

| Cheers for the vote of confidence.
I'll keep replying to it if anyone posts anything new and maybe bump it once or twice a day. I agree with you on the patch thing though. Best to get it out of the way first so all of this doesn't get lost in the ether.
Check in once in a while and add to anything you've already said if you come up with more.

I will contribute once the patch is out and I am sure several others would too. Maybe we could discuss questions to be used in the survey? The original ones are good but I am sure people will think of several more

So far (and this is basically just me listing what I think are the best questions so far put forward by other people, so all credit to them and not me, although there are a couple of my own in there) I think the questionnair would be best laid out in the following format, I've added some sample answers to give an idea of how it would look: 1 - What leagues and nations do you run?
Playable - English comference upwards, Italy top 2 leagues and Spain top 2 leagues.
View only - Brazil, Argentina, France, Germany, Holland. 2 - What is your preferred database size?
Large. 3 - Roughly how many hours a week do you spend playing FM?
Around 14 4 - For roughly how many seasons do you play a save for?
Around 12-15 seasons 5 - What is your favourite feature in the game?
Tactics. I love the way the tactics currently work and the number of different things that need to be taken into consideration when creating tactics. 6 - What is your least favourite feature in the game?
Media interaction/team talks. 7 - If you could improve one existing feature which one would it be and how would you improve it?
Media Interaction/team talks - I'd like to see more depth here and many more options available to the user with more subtle benefits/consequences. Media is a large part of real life football and I'd like to see it effect more than just moral in the game. (If I was answering this survey for real I'd then look to go into a little more detail here) 8 - If you could introduce one new feature what would it be and how would it work?
Assistant manager feedback with regards to tactics. The tactical aspect of the game is excellent but sometimes it's difficult for many people to figure out why things are going wrong. So some feedback from the assistant either during or after a game, such as 'we're being over-run in midfield', we're creating chances but they're too rushed and of a low quality' or 'We're sitting back a little too much and inviting too much pressure' would be useful for many. There would be no solutions given, the user would still have to work out for themselves how to rectify the problem and this could be a feature that canbe turned off for those that don't want it. The quality of the feedback should also be heavily reliant on the quality of the assistant. 9 - Is there a feature that you never use?
The calander. 10 - Are there any leagues/nations you would like to see added to FM?
No.
So this is just an outline as to what I think some good questions are and a possible layout. I'm sure there are more questions that could be useful.
