why are you expected to win a game by a certain amount of goals?
isn't a win and a good performace not good enough? i don't like the some of the new board confidence, i think if SI worked this out, the game would be alot better.

It's rather good I thought, an extra level to the game.
Picture Manchester Utd fans being happy with a 2-0 win over Derby, the performance may have been great, and it was obviously a win, but they'd be pretty ****ed off not to have scored 5 or 6 against such lowly opposition.
Entirely realistic in my opinion, and well worked out.

I agree. There are way too many post match media comments to the effect that even though a certain team has won, they are suer to lament that the goal difference wasn't greater. When do you ever see that in the real media?

Erm. Local match, American football but similarly passionate, the home team beat the defending champions last night 23-21. Most of the radio call-in and media commentary was about how the win wasn't good enough, the coaching was awful, it was only the play of one or two stars that saved us, the team had no heart..
... um, they won. Really. Against the champs. C'mon, what'd you want, a blowout?

You don't, you are confusing media with fans spokesman, and whilst I'm not usre it adds to the game, it is realistic of 'many' fans who are seldom pleased with narrow wins even if they do spin it otherwise.

Actually, that is false. I saw the game and the commentaries as well the point was that Indi came back from way down to make it a game in the last quarter. Also Manning played terribly (5 interceptions) and yet the game was close. The game was san diego-indiana or something like Arsenal-Man united. It would be like saying Arsenal played in 9 and yet MU only won 2-1. In my opinion different game and different issue altogether.

Usually from what I've seen the post match media comments suggest the team could and maybe should have won by more, but the fans confidence is still happy. The fans wont be unhappy with a result, they just wont get over excited and think it's a great win if the team were expected to win by a lot.

It's quite realistic, actually. If the team has more of the chances and more quality overall and only wins by a goal or two it is quite probable that the fans want more.
At least that's how I often feel after watching man utd play, and I would certainly be thinking "why didn't they score more" if they only beat derby by a couple!
Have you actually never seen your team play and thought "well, certainly should have put a few more past them.."?
