Default Getting fed up with FM08s flaws

I've played the newly patched game for a while - and whilst it's a lot more playable now there's still flaws on it that make the game really crap.

And before you starts saying I'm a "****" manager, I have actually won the title and league cup in my first season at Arsenal and not doing to bad in my second season either.

Bug problem for me is speed of the game, which has definitely gone backwards, and the amount of clicks you have to go through just to start a game is stupid. But I can put up with it.

For me though, there are definitely what appear to be fixed games on this. Games where after 10 minutes you can tell you're not going to win no matter what. It just keeps happening far too often.

I played a game at home to Reading, 17 shots - 8 on target, massive possession 2 goals disallowed and we lost 1-0. Ok, **** happens. But then I suddenly thought about some games earlier in my season where I had diffculties. Arsenal 0 Charlton 0 - 21 shots, 9 on target. Arsenal 1 WBA 0 - 24 shots, 14 on target. Southend 1 Arsenal 1 - 17 shots, 10 on target. I'm either thrashing teams, or no matter what I do just can't beat teams despite having tons of chances and my strikers turning to jelly for no good reason.

Anyway, I put all that behind me and carried on playing because the team was doing well regardless.

The I play away to Charlton. 0-0. 15 shots, 8 on target, Charlton had 2 players sent off, and 4 goals were disallowed. Now I knew in the first 10 minutes before most of that happened that I wasn't going to win that match - and so it transpired.

The amount of goals disallowed in this game is beyond a joke. And the amount of times players are clean through and fluff up is beyond a joke. Something just isn't right with the match engine and it's ruining the game.

Who are my forwards? Aguero, Fred, Van Persie - 3 of the game's best.

Yes, I too feel the game has gone badly wrong somewhere. There is no progression since FM07, in fact, in many respects FM08 has gone backwards.

I feel your pain Raven, really I do.
But I'm still playing FM07 and loving it like a new girlfriend so I'm sorry I can't help.
Though I'll pas on some advice given to me recently:

Buy yourself a new Giraffe to help cope with the grief, apparently.
The person who told me that had bought two.

i think these sentiments echo many others and if you try a search there is advice out there to get your strikers performing. Many are also going back to the beta patches as it offers a more realistic engine.

Im sure SI arnt content with the game as it is, but they havnt made any comment for a while and it feels like they have done their bit to make the game better and thats that - which in my opinion isnt good enough.

The Beta patches have a lot more flaws than 8.01.

Beta patch was completely unplayable.

The problem is there was so many problems to fix that SI were never going to get them all right. They may have fixed closing down bug in the Match Engine but it's ****ed up in other ways.

I'm certainly not buying this game ever again unless they can get their act together big time. For a game to go backwards is unacceptable.

I'm sorry, but thats horsecrap. It offers a more realistic match engine. I.E it features strikers that don't actually shoot at the keeper every single time and stop defenders from just standing still to let strikers run thru!

2nd beta patch is fine, if you don't like the full one, download that, its more playable and there aren't any major flaws in it.

Yes I agree with you on this, seems to happen way to often, someone did a thread on this very subject.
