I am getting bids for First Team Players, no problems except that the bids often meet the players valuation, not the valuation that I have set, as i dont set them.
So I decide to negoiate the offer that reflects the importance of the player to my team. The sum that I return with is not over the top, but for a player that is worth $4.9M I am asking for $10M as its 7 days to the transfer dead line, and I will have to pay over the top for a replacement. But the player is now unhappy, because I negoiated?? like come on??
Just keep him if you don't get the right price. Soon after the window close, he'll be fine again.
It's annoying to be bothered by that. My team has "Unsettled by transfer speculation" fairly often. (Miland and Madrid are my most hated). AI doesn't understand "Not for sale" mean and keeps bugging the same player over and over again. They also come to watch matches; I have Rafa Rijkaard and Grant visit the stadium often since they never offer "reasonable" prices. They even offer lower than what I bought for the players.
You can make his unhappy status gone quickly by many ways. If he plays well, you can praise, or suggest a kid for him to tutor, etc.
I tend to keep every player I want unless the offer is too good.
