My second leg of the Italian Cup Quarter Final against Roma was scheduled during an international Wednesday. Almost all my first teamers were away on international duty, but for Roma there were only 5 away. Which means I have the better team.
I had to play my reserve and under 20s and lost.
Waiting for people to come and say that this happens in real life, don't you remember that match between X and Y, etc.
TBH the Italians dont rate doestic cup comps, is it posible that the schedule would also happen IRL as they dont really care? If it was the FA cup I could agree. I remember several years ago Man Utd & Arsenal played a LC tie the day after a big Prem match - obviously it turned into a reserve fixture effectively but that was real life so.....
You have access to the international fixtures ages in advance so you were aware of this problem for weeks prior to the game.
If you weren't able to give your players international instructions (asking some to miss the game), then you should have recalled some players who might have been on loan, or played slightly more attacking in the first leg to get an advantage which you could have protected in the 2nd, etc etc.

Yes, the players I have loaned out are the ones who would rescue me. Surely, the reason I have loaned them out is because they do not get into my first team?
I knew there would be people who would say it is my fault
The small mercy is that at least no one has said so far that it is because of my tactics.
