Default Broughty Athletic?

Has anyone noticed that when you run the Scottish leagues, Broughty Athletic are very active at signing players, out of all the teams in the junior ranks?

As are Carnoustie, Tayport, Linlithgow, Bathgate, but these clubs I can understand, as they are 'big' junior teams. But why Broughty - a tiny club - are there tiny non-league clubs like this in other countries that seem to be active in signing and attracting players? What would cause this?

Being so "tiny", I'm just delighted you noticed us!

I run the website for the Club.http://broughtyathletic.com

Broughty Athletic have started the season well, winning each of their first four League fixtures.

They are curently joint favourites to win the North Division title, after coming so close last season - they missed promotion by one point after several successful runs in various cup competitions.

Their ground, Whitton Park, currently has no cover for spectators, which continues to be a real disincentive to launching any crowd-increasing initiatives.

However, Broughty Athletic are based in Broughty Ferry, a relatively prosperous and expanding part of Dundee, and the Club certainly has the potential to outgrow its current "tiny" image.

Over the coming years we hope to do just that - and a half-decent website is one way to publicly signal the Club's improving professionalism.
