In the 8.0.1 official download topic says:

As English is not my mother tongue, I would like to know what exactly is meant by "Boxed Version".

I mean, I bought the game through the internet... Therefore those are the official patches that should work, right?
Internet has been flooded by 8.0.1 patches and it would be nice to know which is the correct one XD)

In America you can buy a downloadable version, which need special patches.

If the game arrived on a CD then that's the boxed version.

In this thread ^ are all the different patch links.

You'll either be needing the WorldWide Soccer manager digital download patch, or the Fútbol Manager patch depending on which version you bought.

It's Football Manager, not Futbol Manager.

Need to clarify that.

If you have the game on CD, use one of the Boxed Version patches.

If you bought the game using Digital Download, then you need to get the Digital Download patch version.

The different versions are:

Football Manager 2008 (comes on a CD)
Worldwide Soccer Manager 2008 (comes on a CD or as a Digital Download)
Fútbol Manager 2008 (comes as a Digital Download)

Because the amount of downloads always crashes SI's website. They made it available from lots of other sites so that this one could remain open for support.
