I'm not usually one to complain about stuff, but this seems a bit out of whack. Fortunately most of these games have ended in nil to nil draws but it's still disheartening. I would love to blame this lack of scoring on my tactics but I'm getting great opportunity and defending really well. Any suggestions?

I'm sure that's what I'll get. I just have a hard time thinking it's the tactics when clearly the tactics are giving me scoring chances and also keeping me in the game defensively.

I've been pretty critical of much of the game, but I must admit that I reall haven't encountered this yet. Perhaps you could provide some more stats then, (and not just the ones you want to prove your point).
No. of shots off target.
No of shots on target from outside the area.
No of shots on target that were headers.
No of shots on target where the shooter was under pressure when he shot.
I'm not saying that it's your tactics. I'm just saying that I'm not encountering it.

Look man, this is a game, you gotta adapt to the rules of the game and not the rules of football.
In other words, your tactic might help a good team score lots of goals in REAL LIFE, but in FM08 it's not gonna score a lot.
That's really the whole problem, people (myself included) assume the wrong things about sliders. I'd suggest a visit to the tactics forum and see what winning tactics have in common.

While I agree with what your saying in principle, this is supposed to be simulating or at least attempting to simulate the game of football. While I know at times things are a bit askew the basics are still the same. You've gotta take shots to score. Of the shots you take you've gotta get as many as possible on target. It's going to be pretty tough to get more shots out of an already pretty aggressive tactic. Keep in mind too that many times off target shots leave very good shot opportunities on the follow up.
