After a lot of thought, I have come to the conclusion that SI made this game deliberately bad, so that all the FM fanboys would still buy it, but the pirates would be put off from bothering to rip it.(After all, who is going to go to all the trouble of pirating something so bug-ridden? It'd be like trying to squeeze blood from a stone) If this is so, I wish to congratulate SI for pulling the wool over our eyes in such an ingenious way.
Yeh Microsoft and bungie have been pulling that scam for years with Halo.
BUt I dont think that SI have been doing it, I enjoy the game only a few problems gets me annoyed. But thats nothing that can not be fixed in a patch or two.
Haha, I've seen pirates rip off some really bad games, so I don't think that strategy would work very well. Sounds like you're just trying to stir up trouble.

i think there was a hint of sarcasm in his post, or at least i hope so
Not at all, I actually did my doctorate on rogue pirate teams as they violate international copyright laws on their clipper ship fleet in the middle of the Caribbean Sea.

No offence, but I find this very ridiculous conspiracy-theory. Nothing would be more poor marketing plan than delibretaly making a poor game, having it have poor reviews, critisim etc, no matter how huge and loyal fan-base and no company at this level of gaming industry would take such risk just to avoid piracy.

it has its merit....create a dodgy game, bad reviews...no one would want to pirate it.
only the fanboys will buy it. come to think of it, this is a good way to turn all the whiners away.
SI will never have to do another patch to silence them.
I wish people would quit it with this 'fanboys' thing, to be quite honest it's pathetic and childlike to the extreme.
I love the game and resent being labelled a 'fanboy' just because of this, sure it has it's problems, find me a game that hasn't in modern times, it simply doesn't happen anymore, that's a fact of life.
Instead of making pointless posts like this and labelling those who happen to have a differing opinion to yours perhaps you could help SI out by giving constructive criticism of the game, post likes this don't help them, don't help you and in fact don't help anyone, all in all a total waste of time which i have wasted even more time replying to.
