Default football manager every two years??

as much as i enjoy the football manager series i feel that the more advanced it gets the more the bugs seems to be ruining it for us all

personally i think it would be better if they released it every two years and updated the season stats via a cheap add on disc...that way they would have more time to work on the actual engine and get all the kinks out...i know i for one would be happy with just getting the new players in their proper clubs as long as the engine was running smooth...what you think?

Judging by the amount of threads and posts I've been reading recently regarding issues with this year's version I'm sure
lots of people would agree with you.I've thought the same thing myself in the past.

A gap year would certainly allow the game to be tweaked and improved further before release but there must be legitimate
reasons why they can't or won't do this.

I know nothing at all about software development but I would assume that yearly releases are neccessary from a financial
point of view as much as anything else.FM is SI's flagship product after all so a version every two years may not be financially
viable.

I could be totally wrong of course.

Yeah maybe on every two years and some downloads to update for the transfer windows would be a good idea.

Essentially, you're asking them to produce a better game and do so with a halved budget.

They wouldn't make it past the first gap year. No company would.

And Fifa would triumph every odd year and increase their stock. SI would loose licenses and money etc.

Good idea but impractical.

I think two years to develop the game would be excellent. But as everyone had said they'd lose money and ground to the competition.

FM2010 will have two years work on it from now. Not releasing a game in between won't alter that.

Its all about making money so it wont happen.

However by the time FM08 is possibly finally fixed with another patch the season will be over in real life and people will be asking when FM09 is out.
