Fm 2008 certainly has its flaws, but I have yet to find one that makes it unplayable, I'm actually quite enjoying it.

Sure the match engine still has closing down issues(though much better post patch), there are too many 1 on 1 and penalty misses(but its not biased against human managers) and the corners are dodgy(again no bias against human managers), but over-all it is better than 2007's match engine in my opinion.

The confidence bug still seems to be around, making long term games with the same side difficult, however irl managers are sacked all the time for the slightest under achievemnet.

I appreciate that the Spanish League has a registration issue, but apparently there is a way around it, so isn't a major issue.

I'm sure SI have been reading the complaints on the forums, most of which are legitimate issues and will work harder on 2009 to make the release version more playable out the box.

A 2 year wait is impractacle from a business point of view, but perhaps more time should be spent making the current features better rather than introducing new ones that don't work properly.

Scouting/coaching and asst manager reports are much better now and I hope to see other aspects go the same way.

Despite it being avoidable, it's still a major issue.

Rubbish. Are you telling us that it requires ZERO time and effort to compile executables, release the game for outside beta testing, coordinate marketing, do all the blogging nonsense to hype the new release, and ultimately distribute the game?

To claim that there is no difference in development between releasing the game every year and every other year is to insult the intelligence of everyone who posts here.

Get some of the team away from idiotic blogging and hype marketing, and add them to the beta testing team. Give them some programming classes so they can help with the development. After taking an extra year to help make a phenomenal product, THEN they should go about the business of annoying us all with the incessant blogging and other nonsense that has zero impact on the quality of the product. </BLOCKQUOTE>

That only applies if the game is written from scratch every year. It isn't. Come back when you figure it out.

I think theyve just jumped too far trying to make a fantastic game and its backfired on them with all the bugs.

Granted if everything was fixed the game would be awesome.Im hoping when it comes to FM09 they keep most of it the same with all the bugs fixed and maybe a couple of small tweaks/add ons.Changing too much has just been a step too far.

Like some people have mentioned i would be happy paying a certain amount for a few small updates every year and then purchasing the proper game every 2 years.

ok, poor choice of wording, but if its avoidable then we can avoid it and it won't be a problem, but yes, its definitely and issue that should never have slipped through testing.

It probably didn't slip through testing, most things don't.

maybe the reason there is so many bugs on FM this year is because they now devote half there time and resources to FM live?

FML is a different team from FM and has its own budget.

fair enough i did not know that.
but surely its all SI's budget so surely if they didn't do FML it would leave more resources for FM.

Nope, if there was no FML there wouldn't be any extra budget given to them. The budget for FML exists because FML exists.
