| then they need to sack people! The forums are full of unhappy people debating this debarcle of a game,
Time for people to realise that this is not good enough!
the buck stops with Miles -comes on the forums when we need a patch then disappears - GO NOW!
In every other job he would be sacked - How he gets paid for this is unbelievable.
I have never known such an outrage for an FM release.
Oh..an yet we have no SI comment about it!
SIGAMES are doomed - with suckbut talentless people involved.
SEGA take note FFS

Like people have said its not financially viable for them to do this. I would be happy if they brought a game out every year with updated transfers and a solid match engine. Instead of worrying about new features that add little to the game, they should concentrate on getting the fundamentals right. Because this years match engine and registration bugs has made it such a horrible game, when fm2007 final patched up was heading in the right direction.

When the majority of the revenue the company makes comes from releasing the game, where do you propose they get the money to pay the wages of the developers for the years that they don't release the game from?

Yes that's it Volume, make the SI staff even smaller, that'll help.
This forum used to be a double-edged sword. On one side you'd get ideas, people posting suggestions, people making bug reports, on the other side you'd get idiots like you making such rediculous claims and insults based on zero knowledge.
Sadly the latter edge is the much larger edge these days.

| Which essentially means that we may be having poor releases like fm 2008 every year now on simply because they need the money to pay the wages of people who will be working on the following year's poor release.

| Rubbish. Are you telling us that it requires ZERO time and effort to compile executables, release the game for outside beta testing, coordinate marketing, do all the blogging nonsense to hype the new release, and ultimately distribute the game?
To claim that there is no difference in development between releasing the game every year and every other year is to insult the intelligence of everyone who posts here.
Get some of the team away from idiotic blogging and hype marketing, and add them to the beta testing team. Give them some programming classes so they can help with the development. After taking an extra year to help make a phenomenal product, THEN they should go about the business of annoying us all with the incessant blogging and other nonsense that has zero impact on the quality of the product.

perhaps if they just had a booster pack, patch or general update for next year so it's simply caught up on rules, transfers, teams etc. while focusing 2 years worth on the game engine etc.

| And how much of that is done by the programmers?

funny thing is, we all complain about the game, but we all still go out and buy it, and still play it no doubt! i'm enjoying my swedish game with djurgadens even if Roberto Holsen mucks up near post headers every game! you can't say SI are talentless, but maybe they did make abit of a mistake with the match engine, i.e. not spending enough time fixing it. all the other bugs would take weeks to find and fix, and seeing as though so many people buy the game each year, then they would incur a huge financial loss to wait to release the game in a 'perfect' state (if there is such a thing). i think people who complain on the forums about the bugs should just go play something else until the final patch is out!
