Default second season syndrome?

Does it exist with this game? My recently promoted port vale finished 6th place in the epl last season, and now I'm in the worst form of my 15-year career; 1W 2D 6L. And that 1 win was in the euro cup; I've yet to win in the league, leaving me rock bottom.

Did SI try to make it more "realistic" by ass ****ing your team upside down during your second season in top flight?

It has happened to wigan and now probably reading. I don't think it happens to every gamer playing in thier second season in the premier league but it cud be a whole variety of reasons why you are not playing well in your 2nd season.

It's probably your tactics. (I'm serious this time)

The opponents would have learned your original ones, therefore a revamp would be needed.

It's quite common to experience "The Blues" in a second-season in the Premiership.

I always seem to get off to really bad starts. Sometimes, it's just a case of changing your pre-match team talk (I used "No Pressure" when I was in the BSS and won it, but that didn't work in the BSP and so after 7 or 8 losses I used "Expect a Win" - worked a treat! I won the Setanta Shield and FA Trophy). It may also be helpful to drop the strikers who aren't scoring into the reserves for a bit and help them find their boots.

Second season syndrome doesn't exist. Wigan and West Ham were weakened signifcantly last season, Reading have stayed still whilst the rest of the top half imporved. If it is in the game (which I doubt), it should be removed.

Anyone remember Ipswich?

Finished 5th and qualified for the UEFA Cup at the end of the 2000/2001 season, but then went straight down the next season.

Thanks a lot Sheepshanks and Burley.

2nd Season Syndrome is riff in the EPL. Teams that are new are hard to work out how to play against them so usually have a decent first season. In the 2nd season they get sussed and more often than not their top players go to other teams so alas they start to slip up and head for the bottom of the league.
