Make sure they aren't tight marking so they are in space more. Loose zonal is the way to go. Extra creative freedom also.
You could also try sarrowing them.

| yeah that should be fine. The main thing is have loosely marking so they are always in space and not close to defenders.

I give more creative freedom than that: 15-20. Also for attack-minded midfielders. I set creative freedom lower if I want to keep a target man central.
There seems to be a lot of confusion about creative freedom. It is not what it sounds like...there is not a correlation between Creativity and creative freedom. It is the freedom to stray from the tactical blueprint. This allows play to be more fluid and less static.
Creative freedom also seems to have defensive advantages: players given higher creative freedom will be more likely to "fill the gap" made by a teammate who has been caught out.

| Is the opposition giving you any space to utilize? How do you attack?

I find one of the most important individual instruction for a Striker is closing down. If he has medium/high for closing down defenders he tends to stay closer to them even when they havent got the ball.
Sarrowing does help, however I find this sometimes results in the striker being too wide resulting in him having to beat numerous defenders to get a shot at goal.
Personally I find high creative freedom and/or 'free roles' to be counterproductive, normally.

"Off the ball" is the most important stat if you want them to find space. A player with a low value is very easy man mark out of the game for 90 min.

Try to send more people forward. If the opposition defense has to mark 5 men rather than two, it will crack more easily.
Also use more through balls wit hmidfielders combined with FWR with strikers, especially if MCs are creative and strikers are quick.
