I have been struggling eith tactics on the demo so far. Hope to sort that out by the time the game is released. Have noticed super keepers are still a feature of the game.
Here are some stats from a league cup game.

I'd be more worried about your strikers only being able to shoot on target 50% of the time, rather than there being a super-human goalkeeper.

What supakeepers.??? Like essexblue said..look at your SOT ratio.

Maybe your right. But i cant remember a keeper makeing 16 saves in a game. Robert Green did make about 8 against Arsenal last season in an outstanding performance for west ham. It seems to happen every 3rd game on fm.

Do you have any tactic or training tips to get more than 18 shots on target in a game? I have long shots set to low so the chances are not just speculative shots from 30 yards.

My strikers are training "high" shooting and attacking. My 2 strikers in question have finishing stats of 14 & 16 also composure stats of 14 & 15.Which isn't bad for the championship. Their positioning and off the ball must be ok as the strikers had 30 0f the 34 chances between them so they are getting into the correct positions.

How can i get more than 18 shots on target in a game? I have no money to buy a player like Torres and i don't think he would come to Wolves. Anyone with hints or tips to improve SOT please join in the topic.

Quality not quantity...look to make passes behind the defensive line...use hold up men..I'm playing as west ham too so they have loads of options..first thing you gotta do is sell off ashton and use the money to get a few better players in..already got quite a good squad now..

Think about what kind of strikers they are and how the chances are falling to them. If they are missing a lot of 1 on 1s it could be their composure or finishing at fault or low confidence.
If they have low decision making and you're leaving long shots on mixed or often then you could be having 16 shots from 30 yards out.
I've found that crossing from the goal line has been my most effective tactic so far playing as Ipswich. I've had the same problem with creating chances and not scoring though - drew 8 of the first 9 games!

Interesting. My first thoughts on the game were that teams create fewer chances now, but seem to take them more. Perhaps it's my tactics being unable to create any chances.

I genuinely think, from what I've seen so far, we won't be seeing as many "cheat" games in the final build of this version as appeared in the last.

Sorry if i was unclear. (Rashidi1) I'm wolves not west ham. (FM2008 DEMO) They have quite a good squad for the championship, Nowhere near the options available to the hammers.

(essexblue)I have long shots set to rarely across the whole team in an attempt to create chances closer to goal. This was in the hope that the good finishing and composure stats of my strikers would be put to better use than just pumping in 30 yarders. most of the chances were within the 18 yard box after out running the defender ar passing in behind him.
I was met buy a keeper who had the game of his life to pull of 16 top class saves in the one game. I'm not saying the game is cheating just that goal keepers in the game seem to pull off this sort of performance a bit too often. Maybe this could do with a bit of fine tuning for the release of the game.
But who knows, in another 10 games i might think otherwise. It was just an observation i had made as it has happened 4 times in 10 games for me so far.(not all quite to the same degree as the screenshot) Someone will be on the wrong end of a 10 -0 spanking sooner or later


Millie, are you using the exact same tactic file for the 08 demo as you use in your 07 games? Or did you do a remake of whatever your favorite type of tactic is, on the 08 tactic screen?I have imported a 442 tactic i made in 07 but may try an 08 remake to see if it helps.

In Fm08 it takes ages before players got ok morale. Its very hard as an unproved manager in a top club.
Most of the players in my AC Milan squad has been poor morale for 2 months now..Gilardino hasnt scored in 5 league matches(hes morale is the main factor). Same with Pirlo ..very bad start from him also.
I think its something with High ambitious players..and new managers

I don't think most of us will use the same tactics from 07 here..some modification here and there are likely
