Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Ok this is how I want to play with my Arsenal side

Problem is the lack of scoring. I dominate my games but have great trouble scoring wich leads to 1-0 defeats. and some 1 or 2 -1 wins. I know you win some and lose some, but I dont think Arsenal should have trouble scoring against teams like Derby at home. Have anyone else tried to play with a single striker with sucess? If you do please give me some pointers.

Yeah I have...you could use a 4231 or a 433...

What's your set up like? The FAQ up top has a bit of information on how you could go about setting up your formation as well.

You could set up the lone striker as a targetman and then use the wingforwards to cut in...or you could employ them as deep running amcs...they both work

I changed from attacking mentality to defensive and applied counterattacks and I beat Villa with 3-0 and Derry 3-0. So I'll try some more and I will look into the FAQ's

how would you get the wingforwards to cut in? By using the arrows or a tactical tweak?

To get my wingers to cut in I play narrow and/or tell them to cross rarely. A different option would be to play wider but focus play through the middle. Setting them up with free roles might also help.
