It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Cleansweep with AC Milan

First of all a great thanks to Cleon. I read through his Sheff Utd project and took tips from their to create my own tactic to complete an unbeaten season with Milan.

I did as Cleon says where you look at your scout report, counter the oppositions instructions and play to your own strengths.

With milan the main strengths are a strong midfield and defence and they play best with a diamond formation with the AM being Kaka and DM was a rotation between Ambrosini and Pirlo depending on the oppositions' strikers heading ability as Ambrosini is stroger in the air.

I found that rather than attacking a team when behind, it is sometimes better to defend then counter attack them as Cleon suggested.

I made two key signings in the form of Pablo (5.5m) and Eddie Johnson (1.9m) who were both vital in the teams success. Eddie Johnson finished the season with 41 goals

The season started off great as i went on a great run of 10 games without conceding and 32 games unbeaten in all competitions. To cut a long story short I finished the season unbeaten with 2 losses only in second legs of the Italian cup which were not vital.

I won the Champions League AET against Arsenal 3-2.

I beat Juventus in the final of the Italian cup 2-0 on aggregate

League table:

Tactic Positions:

I have brought in Jonathan de Guzman and Oscar Ustari this season so hopefully i can repeat last seasons success!

Sorry for going on a bit

any feedback welcome

Its not really a set tactic as such as it changes every match. Its just a basic diamond with hardly any individual settings. The team instructions change every match depending on how the opposition plays and the injuries i have.

It comes down to if they play:

Attacking, you play defensive with counter attack ticked

Defending, you play attacking with counter attack unticked

Short passing, you play direct and quick

Direct passing, you play short and slow.

Have a read through Cleons' Sheff Utd thread as that will tell you all you need to know.

Hope that helps

Sorry another point is that opposition instruction are important. I generally show the strikers onto weaker foot and close down the wingers always and again showing onto weaker foot

Do you do all these changes on a global basis or individual? Do you use both the individual and team mentality or just one of them?

I generally use just team mentality apart from my two centre backs are set to 4 clicks from the left. and the same number of clicks for closing down. But the rest of the team is set on a global mentality.

I have my wingers running with the ball set to often and forward runs set to mixed. My strikers are the opposite to that

My target man, Gilardino, is set to forward runs and through balls often. The supply to him depends on the heading ability and pace of the opposition defence.

Thanks smithy.

I've read Cleon's thread a couple times but could never really get it going with my team as he did with his.

So you have pretty much everything set on default except the instructions for wingers, central defenders and target man as you metioned?
