As a general rule of thumb, is it advisable to put players on both or can doing that be construed as "conflicting instructions"?
I think that I may have read that it is but I can't find it.
I am trying to use the demo to sort a workable tactic using only a home and away version and playing the match using only the team instructions as sparingly as possible. The idea being that if the player and team instructions are more or less similar home and away, my team and tactics should improve. But!!! I could be wrong.

Run with ball is what he will do when he as the ball.

Forward runs are what he will do when your team has possession but that particular player doesn't have the ball.

I know the definition ot the two terms. It is just that I am certain, that recently I have read in the forums that the two do conflict. However, I bow to your greater knowledge, Cleon, and accept that I may be incorrect.

I use both together for certain people and see nothing that suggest they conflict. Its clear from the descriptions and definitions to that they are not conflicting.

If you think about it how could the 2 interfere with each other? The only time they would interfere in the slightest would be if you wanted them to recieve balls in a particular area of the pitch. Apart from that I cannot think of anything else

I have spent all afternoon searching the postings and I could not find anything. It must be my age! However, remember, the nice thing about alzheimers is that you get to meet new friends every day!!!
Another one for you Cleon. If I give my AMC individual instructions and also tick the free role box, is this conflicting?

All freerole will do is allow the player to roam about freely. Its exactly same on the game as it would be in real life.
