It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

And I hope to see ya ass here Noel, miss discussing things with you. I'm going to be all hands on deck with my own software roll-out and negotiations for a support contract..so I'm not going to be able to give much input to the game. Hopefully it eases up by early November..really looking forward to having the likes of you Buxton and the rest back. This forum will be a discussions forum based on quality. No prisoners will be taken.

Hopefully 08 will take the forum back to the days of 03/04 or even earlier etc.

Me and Rash never seem to contribute to the forum at same times, I'm busy when hes not and vice versa. Bet people think were the same person

My two central defenders are on man to man marking and also tight marking, so this seems to work well because they are keeping an eye o any potential bursts through the middle by opposing strikers.
I'm trying to create a tactic like this now through out the team. I want to create a tactic that just pressures the opposition for 90 minutes and doesn't let them rest on the ball at all. Looks kinda promising.

Forward runs are aesthetically stunning now- one-twos look great too. Big plus point.

The one two's remind me of the Arsenal style for some reason.

Even better with Arsenal. Clichy/Eboue/Sagna linking up with Hleb/Rosicky has never looked so good.

Aye it resembles then in real life too. On 07 I thought it was near impossible to match Arsenal's real life tactic but on 08 you can get a lot closer to replicating it now.

Wish you were there during the testing phase, me and Dave C were hammering pkms after pkms breaking things down and complaining about the lack of channel running or the lack of overlaps..Dave even came up with a term..it was hilarious. Good thing is that PaulC also agreed and it was fairly easy after that.

The thing I have issues with now BIGTIME is the keeper not following instructions, which makes it nearly impossible for me to play LLM football in any meaningful way. There are some other areas that need to be fixed engine wise; but clear and present improvements are:

Manmarking
Tightmarking
FWR
RWB

these are just right...in fact manmarking works too well..the chaps actually mark them dead, and the AI is smart enough to do things in game if you are dumb enough to specific man mark 2 strikers in a game. It will swap strikers or go to a lone striker formation which will snap your defense in two. In fact the AMC runs are also designed to snap you in two. The problem with the engine now is that its too heavily skewed to the human. The human has an overwhelming advantage in the game and can easily dominate. And that happens because you are going to exploit the fact that the AI cannot defend deep.

This has to be fixed, in fact there are now ways to "cheat" and win. Incidentally the corner setup can work, just remember to read the thread in the FAQ I put up, its the same one I use in game and it does work, very well in fact.

I get decent goals to corners leading up to my work having vetoed by gaming time. I'm in bed now, my gf next to me who's watching Fashion TV...yahoo.

Yep, I'll be back with a vengance this time! During FM '05 I had a lot of spare time on my hands and could contribute more. '06 & '07 era... involved in relationships, not as much time. But now i'm a free man again and have never looked forward to a release of FM for ages. I'm dying to get involved in this one and pull the match engine to pieces!

I have noticed that playing a high line, when the AI tries to hoof the ball to release pressure, your centre halves are there straight away winning headers for you to regain possession and keep up the pressure. I haven't paid too much attention to detail on the attacking side of things yet, just trying to organise the defence first.

Looks promising though
