Creative freedom is really a tool on its own regardless of mentality. Creative freedom is simple, it just allows the footballer to use his own brain more and shy away from the settings you have given him. Basically thats it in a nutshell

Yes exactly, even thought you told him to cross from byline he might so something totally different and give the ball away.

I tend to use creative freedom rarely, the only time I give someone high CF is when I'm in need of something extra in a game. I use it as a tweaking tool to turn a game around if needs be and player permitting of course.

Creative freedom in previous versions has had to be used sparingly because as Cleon said, it gives the players the freedom to use their own judgement and not do as you want them to

You can obviously give lots of CF to special players ( Ronaldinho, Messi, Gerrard etc) but for others, you would have to look at their attributes for decisions etc.

Doubt that you would use it much in the lower leagues but I suugest that it is used with caution.
