It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Hello peoples, if i was to buy some great coaches and youth coaches but leave the training to the general schedule would my players still develop well? Also how many fields should i put my coaches to work in? i was thinking 3-4?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums.

If you read the training threads in the Unofficial Tactics bible and the FAQ you will get plenty of info on this. Personally I think that the General Training is OK but there is no doubt that you will get better development if you design specific ones by position, and alocate your coaches manaually rather than use the auto assign option. I use the following 7:

Keeper, Full Back, DC, DM, Winger, MC, and ST

I try to recruit 9 coaches and allocate them manually, one to each of the 9 coaching areas, and that way you can get a much higher rating for effectiveness. Try some experiments and see how you get on. Hope this helps.

No doubt everyone has their own ideas and what works for them. For me i keep to the general schedule but got all the best coaches and only assign one option to each coach, it's only mid-March and my U18's and Reserves have both won their leagues and i'm 9 pts clear in mine.

I forgot to add - It also helps if you got good players and a good team spirit.
