Away from home what settings do you use for the team? I normally play last notch of defensive with counter attack on and a defensive line of about 8.

i started off a match against zaragoza away with last notch of defensive, CA on and defensive line about 8 aswell, only problem was my strikers had no chance of winning all those flying balls from my defence players. what i did was giving my wingers a instruction to rwb often, rare ttb and cross ball mixed, i also told my team ( individual instruction, each player for his own ) to play short passing so the ball stays on the pitch and my players could use their techniques and not their physical attirbutes as they lack comparing to zaragoza's. i got down a goal from a long range by ricardo olivera, but on a break attack hernandez with a assist of nihat played a run over his defender and equalled ( just after i tweaked all these things, before i did it seemed like a chaos ), so i guess i have a clue finally.
u think i could use a playmaker on away match? any other suggestions except for high tempo short passign CA game?

ok ive just tried to play a home game with fast tempo and short passing, first with riquelme as a playmaker - alot of balls gone because they marked him and my wingers searched to pass the ball for riquelme, so what i understand from that : impossible to play short passing high tempo with a playmaker?

Short passing and high tempo can be somewhat conflicting. If you use high tempo try a normal/direct passing style. If you play a slow tempo try a more short passing approach.

if i play direct passing then wingers \ midfielders play the ball above the pitch, what makes my strikers to struggle as both are less than 180cm and easy for defenders ( i know that by watchign full games, i noticed that =[ )

what about the problem ive mentioned? my wingers get to the danger zone then pass the ball to playmaker - attack gone as he's getting closed down.
what can i do about that?

Cleon, I've got a question if i may:

i noticed my games that by playing SLOW tempo and short passing, with my wingers instructions which are:

fwr - mix
rwb - often
long shots - often
ttb - rarely
cross - mix

i seem to lose alot of balls since my wingers get locked up, but after i changed tempo to quick i came back from 0-1 to win 2-1 and my game went great.
perhaps its the wingers instructions that dont fit with slow tempo ?
