There are so many player who are AMR or AML such as c. ronaldo, j.cole. messi, shaun wright phillips, ricardo queresma etc and most are really bad (competent to awkward) at playing just right/left midfield. Is it OK to play them there or is its not. Otherwise it is very hard to get players who will work well in a 4-4-2 etc
It is ok to play them in MR/L, even if they have no rating there at all. The game treats them as being accomplished in those positions, as long as they are natural in AMR/L.
I think the importance of players' positional attributes is overrated and an AMR playing as an orthodox MR should be absolutely fine... so should a quick striker or a fullback with reasonable passing and crossing. In practice, I think the only difference you'll notice is that a player with accomplished or higher MR will track back and help their fullbacks more effectively than a pure AMR, but it's not like you want Ronaldo or Messi to be doing a whole lot of defending anyway,
