it's getting really frustrating... my chelsea drew 1-1 against reading... i had 30 shots and 21 on target... scored one goal... they had 4(3) shots n scored one goal... i dominated the whole game but my defenders (terry + carvalho) got exposed n kevin doyle just outpaced carvalho n hit one goal... wtf it happens all the time!!! My defenders just couldnt handle the opposiiton's striker... HELP NEEDED PLEASE!
my team instruction is as follow:
team mentality: normal (2 notch up the middle point)
Creative freedom: same
closing down: whole pitch (minus one notch = own half)
defensive line: normal (midpoint)
DR/L
mentality: 10
creative freedom: 5-6
closing down: 6-8 (own half)
forward run (often) for ashley cole
both has cross ball set to often (n also cross from byline)
DC
mentality: 6 (normal)
closing down: own area (plus one notch = own half)
everything else is set to rarely
after a few goals conceded, i made the following changes:
DR/L:
mentality: 6 (minus one notch = defensive)
forward run (A cole) set to mixed
further decrease creative freedom
DC:
mentality: defensive (3-4)
further decrease creative freedom
Am i going the right direction? any suggestion of further tweaking?
I am really frustrated to concede goals (not to mention dropping points) when i dominated the whole game (57-43 possession)
also, how come my strikers cant seem to score many goals (got 13-17 shots on goal but only managed to hit one or two goals... that reli sucks)
I am definitely not a "guru" but there are a couple things you might change to tighten things up. setting the dr/l to cross from byline leaves them out of position in some cases so they could not help out if you cbs get beaten by a strker. you might try dropping the dline a couple notches. Also you might have yoour dmc man mark the striker you think is pacey and beating you.
But it sounds like you got beat by a totally individual effort and really there is not a whole lot you can do.
The striker thing there is not much you can do about. it happens to every body. the only question is tempo, that will determine the quality of your shots and make the finishing slightly better if it is low. still it will feel as though the cpu is way more clinical.
The only other thing i have seen that makes your defense tighter and your team play better is time on the pitch together. the more consistent my team picking and tactical instructions were the better my teams have played.
thanks for ur advice... I will look into those areas... i hope as the season goes by, my players will be more familiar with my tactic and insturctions... and stop conceding that kind of goals... it really ****ed me off when i got beaten by... a little KEVIN DOYLE.
