I have a problem. Got a decent squad with Notts Forest in the first season and i am in 6th place with about 12 games to go. My defensive record is brilliant - conceeding the least amount of goals in the league, but i have only managed to score 29 goals all season!! Have a look at my squad and see if you can make any realistic recommendations...

how much money do you have ? also i take it your in season 1 . A good striker is Doudin he's 20 Swiss and scores loads, i got him for various amounts but certanly no more than £250k less i believe. that and check your teams attacking mentality in the team instructions on the tactics screen if it's in the middle up it a bit. also are you playing with a Dimond midfield ? this is good for defence but your attacking players if not all up at the same time get seperated from the rest of the team try plying with your DMC in Mc just behind your AMC or play with a flat midfield 4 and have your AMC of the same side as your weakest ST and put the run arrow to half way between him and the ST.

is stancu not scoring for you?? bought him for sheff wed 1st season and he's got 4 in 3 pre-season games.....

In my forest game sold Dobie (a.s.a.p-crap) ,see if Malcolm Christie is still available on free ,will do a good job in league 1 also Kostadinov(spelling) from Hearts if not enough to buy get on loan,also David Thompson free at start of game hope this helps mate :thup:

Stancu is scoring. He's got 14 goals in about 30 games, but the next top scorer is Kris Commons with 3. I think I'm in dire need of a better striker, but i don't have any cash so desperately need to get rid of Dobie/Agogo.

Frazier Campbell on loan from Man U. He scores loads in League One.

I had the opposite problems, i scored the most in the league but conceded a lot. I got Campbell from Utd on loan who was amazing for me scoring over 30 goals also someone called Haynes (forgot his first name) from Ipswich he was great also with Campbell, you can get him on loan too. I won the league just that season mainly because of their goals bailing out my defence (the last game of the season i won 7-5 away!)

Tyson scored 27 goals for me, Christie on a free got 20 too, Haynes on loan got over 10, Doudin at 40k got over 10 and Campbell on loan got a few too.
Play Tyson with an atacking mentality and forward runs play through balls from your att mid.
I'm just starting season 2 and am not sure about signings but walked League One, the staring swuad, Clingan, Cohen, Davies, Wiloson, Perch, Smith is very good for that level.

you need to play Clingan. He's much better on this game than i thought. try this

Have slow tempo (about 4 or 5) and short passing (4 or 5)
Have your fullbacks attacking, with direct passing. Centrebacks zone defending and direct passing. perch as a DM but in the MC slot, Clingan as an AMC in the MC slot. Wingers running with the ball often, but not forward runs. Your striker all out attack, total creative freedom, run with the ball, forward runs. Give it a go.

You watch, you'll probably lose horribly!

Cheers, some excellent advice. I'll give it a try, especially the last one. Try Stancu as the lone striker since he's the only one who's scoring anyway!!!
