Just looked at the annual summary.

I managed to win the best and runner-up best signing. And the worst signing and runner-up worst as well.

Odd system.
Not really. We had a system like that in Slovenia some years back. however, we had to decrease number of teams to ten, because others didn't meet the demands by UEFA licensing.

Its the best we could do to maintain a reasonably competitive league regionally in a nation that has only probably 10 decent working stadias for pro football clubs. And given the gulf from professional S-League to premier league pro-feeder/development teams to division 2 is mighty wide, cant have a relegation system or expand the number of teams without diluting the football at the top. Thats why you find all the weird foreign teams that bolster out professional club numbers.

Although in my opinion the foreign teams have done little besides give morale boosts to the local boys. Although the Albirex team has done reasonably well with players from that team moving to Europe or doing well for other S-League teams.

And I did realize you had Tessensohn in the league

We move clubs up and down based on feasibility of team wanting to come up and teams going bust or pulling out at the top. Almost like how the Scottish league works. I wonder if the game provides for that and moves up clubs like in real life...

One gets relegated, one goes up, totally random.

Tessensohn for example had no players when promoted. By the time they gathered a decent enough squad, they relegated :p

Amongst the foreign teams now only Super Reds are laying in the S-League. Albirex relegated last year.

Gombak United, S-League, 2018

Fans, board: win the league or the cup
Media: 1st
Odds: Evens (together with Young Lions)

In: U-23 captain playmaker, very young striker
Out: 2nd choice DR, a bunch of useless young players

No excitement this year. The new playmaker vitalised attacking play and the Malay striker kept on scoring from everywhere. We started off well, and simply ran away with the title, winning it with 6 games to go. Finally ended up 16 points in front of Woodlands.

We managed to lose more points after winning the league than in the whole year

As my 'manager' approaches 60, I accepted an offer from Australia (in-game homeland of his), so at the end of my contract I'm off to Adelaide Utd for 2 years, and probably retire afterwards.

League
P: 33 W: 23 D: 6 L: 4 80-29 75pts
Champions (retained) \o/

Cup
Sucked ass. Out in the first round in a really annying way against Tampines.

Asian Champions' League
First appearance ever I think for a Singaporean club. Did OK, gave a tough time to other teams, but didn't manage to go through.

We thrashed the Korean cupwinners 6-0 home though, and it was by miles the best performance I've seen from my team in the last 3 years.

P: 6 W: 2 D: 3 L: 1 13-6 9 pts
Position: 2nd

Still no abroad scouting, but somehow scouts are allowed to go to the World Cup, and one of them finds an exciting 19-year-old defender from Gabon

Next year is farewell year from Gombak.

Ex team-report:
After winning the Indonesian first phase for 8 years in a row, and 3 consecutive titles, Persikad begin to fade away, coming in just 7th.

Gosh, I'm forgetful:

All awards you can imagine: free-scoring Malay ST (41 goals, 32 in the league, 7,91 avg.)

So what you could say, if you were that way inclined, is that the Australians covered an old Paul Young son and sang "Gombak and stay for good this time"...

I'll get my coat.....

Save went ashtray :thdn:

What has happened this season:

Gombak Utd, S-League, 2019

Board, fans: wic cup&championship
Media: 1st
Bookies: Evens

Not much has changed. Some dead wood (mostly older players) out, young DC from Gabon and Bruneian fullback in.

Started 0-1-1, then came a 13-game winning streak and that was it basically. Rest of the league left behind, won the title with 6 games to go thanks to a SAFFC defeat.

Asian CL saw us advancing from the group, and got knocked out by Marinos of Japan (1-2 home - sole home defeat of the year , 1-0 away)

Singaporean Cup : got into the final against Woodlands

AFF South East crap cup :

Played while the Asian Cup. Road to final: 3-0, 4-0, 4-0, 3-0, and in the final we won against the Vietnamese champions 2-1.

Big DC from Gabon was played as a striker (as I had only 1 healthy and available striker for various reasons), and scored 8 goals . Never before I've won an international cup in FM, so it's nice, but to be honest the opposition quality was plain awful.

As of 1st Nov 2019 took over Adelaide United , leaving the last 4 league matches plus the cup final to my successor (former Ass.Man). Finally made it into favoured personnel at Gombak

Just as I kicked out some wage-eaters (salary cap was doing my head in in no time), got acquainted with the team, and play a month (record: 2-1-1, we were at 5th place at this point), the save game goes corrupt Not using rolling autosave this time didn't help either...

Next time back to Europe, probably England (never 'managed' there) or Sweden.

Here it ends.
