The only non-Indonesian club that was willing to give me a try was Gombak Utd in Singapore.

Two matches are left from their season, the closing round of the championship (they're 5th out of 10) and a cup final.

(I have to say, I was tempted by the Macau national team job as well)

Take the Macau gig as a hobby, and wait for a good club to turn up. Pity your leaving your side but all the best for the future!

Thanks for the update! Although Singaporean soccer moves around pretty much like the Conference so it's hard to judge anything from the game, and I'm surprise we got nowhere in the regional cups for the club sides.

So, here we go:

Gombak Ud., Singapore S-League, 2015

Arrived with 2 matches to go. Signed 3 of my Persikad players (young Malaysian ST, club "legend Argentinean ST, who was transfer listed for some reason; Liberian MC).

Played 2 games. Lost the league game. Won the cup final, 2-1 with goals from the two new strikers.

Work begins from now on.

League: 5th, Cup: Winners

BTW, after years of playing FM, some brand new fan/board reactons have come up:

"The supporters are still recovering after some wild celebrations following the Singaporean Cup triumph"
"One group of fans has even decided to dedicate a shrine to the new manager at the entrance of the local supporters' club"
"...some board members state that you have Midas touch"

Let's see if I can achieve anything else than winning the cup final by luck.

^^^ Bragging!

Although I had a "consider building a statue" or something before, not an outright worship area.

^^^ Bragging....

Singaporean fans are not that fanatic I'm afraid, where's the realistic feel of an LLM game!?

I played the Indonesian league in FM06 and ended up going to Singapore. There was a bug then though with a Singapore team who only had Japanese players. They had released them all and couldn't sign any replacements = a team with no players!!

Is that problem fixed now?

Sorry 'bout bragging. Just couldn't resist to quote the new reactions :p

@TheOmen: This bug seems to be fixed, as Albirex Niigata (team of Japanese), Super Reds (Koreans), Guangyuan (Korean) and Sporting Afrique (African) have the players of their nationality.

There are a problem though with Young Lions (U23 team), Singapore U18s and U17s - all have over-age players.

In Indonesia I encountered the strange bug of no FREDs coming through. The "new youth players" message popped up, but no-one was actually coming through. One of the main reasons I left Indonesia; the league will get an oldie competition feel in some years.

BTW, if anyone can show me a stranger league than Singapore, I'd be surprised.

Watching my team's absymal performance against a side from East Timor in a friendly (losing 3-2), I think next trophy could well be something like "The Wooden Foot Award"
