Season 6. League 2 2012/13.

We led the league early doors, before our regular mid-season trip aboard the aquaplane gently eased us out of the automatic promotion zone. A rotation of players helped us get off, in time to challenge for an automatic promotion spot, only for us to blow it in the 93rd minute of the last game of the season .

It wasn't hepled bu our rivals not kicking off until after our game had finished .

Anyway, so we eased past Wrexham, (who beat us in last season playoff semi), and Swansea in the playoffs, (without conceding a goal), and will be playing in League 1 next season.

The battle for the star of the season was a bit of a battle.

My 2nd choice Irish keeper made a bid to become 1st choice, and kept 16 clean sheets.

My N.Irish left back skipper, contributed 7 goals and 9 assists.

My young Serbian centre-half banged in 10 goals, (all from a certain position at a certain set-piece).

But the winner, (once again), must be my N.Irish support striker who slammed home 20 league goals in a season, for the 3rd time in his career.

Players sold 3 for £467,000. (Another 7 released)

Players purchased 2 for £25.000.

Balance. About £1.3M in credit.

Cup games won 2.

The board expanded youth and training facilities.

The board announced a huge stadium expansion of 174 seats .

Strange happenings.

Spurs were relegated, (again), after only a 1 season return to the Premiership.

Preston North End, having achieved promotion to the Premiership in 2011, finishing 5th in the league in 2012, (thus qualifying for the UEFA Cup). They followed this up by getting all the way to the final of the UEFA Cup in 2013, (before being beaten by Barcelona), and went one better in the FA Cup as they beat Portsmouth in the 2013 final.

Tranmere have been relefated to Conference national.

Season 7. League 1 2013/14.

I played the first half of the season over a month ago, (at which time I was enticed to visit the Land of the numerous suck asses for a month. We weren't in danger of getting relefated, (I liked it so it's staying), but we weren't anywhere near the playoff spots either so.......

We finished 16th in the table.

The star of the season was my N.Irish left back skipper, who added another 10 goals to his tally. That makes 47 goals in 7 years, (most from free-kicks). Not bad for a full back.

Players sold, 7 for £1,000,900, (another 5 released).

Players purchased, 3 for £135,000. (Most of it going on a N.Irish centre-half).

Balance. £650,000 credit. (I managed to lose about £

I may have enjoyed my 6 or 7 years in Nor'n Iron, (and had planned to go back), but this is my main game, and I am gutted that it doesn't feel like it. I feel suitably embarrassed for embarking on a 2nd game when the first one wasn't broken :o.
